Caron Butler?

Hey y'all, Bucks fan here. First and foremost, I apologize for making a new thread on your board. Just barging in, turning on the TV, jumping on the couch and throwing my feet up on the coffee table like I own the place.

How was Caron last year? Is his main strength at this point strictly as an outside shooter? Just how bad is his defense?

Thanks ahead of time.

He's pretty much just an outside shooter now. Occasional drives to the basket but not often.
He's tough as hell tho. Not afraid to mix it up w anybody which is always appreciated to me

Great locker room guy and teammate. Pretty much just an outside shooter. Tough dude, will never forget when he broke his hand in the play-offs and they said he was done, he still chose to come back to guard Rudy Gay after only siting out one game

He is strictly a jump shooter. Can get hot from 3pt distance, but he'll also drive you crazy with the long 2's and ill-advised shots. Defense is average at best. Will give you a highlight dunk once in awhile:

Overall, a consummate professional. Great locker room guy. Sucks that he will take mins away from Giannis and Middleton though.

A pro's pro. In the locker room, he's the big brother that can take the younger players under his wing and help them both on and off the court.

He's a decent shooter overall. He's solid in the mid-range and he's reliable from outside. Usually, he'll score in spurts. He might have a quick start where he'll put up 12-15 in the 1st quarter. Sometimes he'll have a hot start to the 2nd half. If he's hot, then just let it fly.

An annoying thing that he does is that he'll often pass up an open shot for an out of rhythm contested one.

I was quite a fan of Butler. I love his toughness (as everyone is saying) and energy he can bring, he gets hot and cold so you can't rely on him to be consistent but a good vet to have around the lockeroom for leadership.

You will soon find out, he is the master of the pump fake.
But other than that, he is everything that everyone else on the board has said he is.

For some odd reason, he disappears after the 1st and 3rd quarters. Like, there's a significant drop off.

Never understood this, lol.

He's molded himself into a nice spot-up 3PT shooter. His defense is a bit below average, which was one of the weaknesses for the Clippers last season, wing defense. He should be a good locker room guy.

Thanks for all the info, guys. Much appreciated. So, he's not good to have on the court at the end of games?

Depends. Barnes finished games at the 3 last yr. but we needed D most of the time since we were ahead.

I wouldn't say that, I think he's fine to have at the end of games. He can spread the floor and hit FT's.
