from broadcasting our games?

I seriously don't want to watch us another Thursday night on TNT without the TV on mute. What in the blue hell was Reggie Miller talking about last night except hating on everything the Clippers do and everything Blake Griffin does?

- he compared us to Canelo Alvarez to the cHeat being Floyd Mayweather.
- said Blake's 23-13 (at the time) had NO impact on the game.

Charles Barkley says, "I KNOW the Clippers can't win a championship...AFTER FIVE GAMES!"

I don't want our games broadcasted on that network anymore...Fox Sports and Disney networks for me.

well... blake was a no impact for the most part even with those stats... there's plenty of times where he should have taken advantage of the mismatch by going post moves, but he decided to back up and try a midrange. he did not help spread the floor in that case since now everyone's just around a perimeter area. so i tend to agree with that analysis.

barkley's comment is more so that he can get another emmy. lol

So you're saying that all Clipper games should be exclusive to Ralph Lawler, Mike Smith and Prime Ticket? That everyone else is just going to bash on the Clippers because of their past history, insisting the casual audience to root for the other team whether it's the Heat, Spurs, Thunder or any other team with a promise or a history of past accomplishments? Do you feel that Prime Ticket is the only trust worthy network that criticizes the Clippers fairly just because they are licensed to air their material?

Look: I like Inside The NBA because of the funny stuff that happens with Ernie and the crew. I don't have to take the analyst's commentary about the Clippers seriously - or hecklers as some people have called them. But I keep an eye on their statements. I want to know what they're really trying to say. Hidden in their arguments are some very slim, but possibly bright silver linings, but they're disguised as negative criticism for a reason. They want to see if the Clippers can handle the pressure of becoming a true title contender.

In the past, the Clippers were losers and constantly ridiculed by the media because the franchise allowed it. It took a veto from David Stern to change their trajectory. Right now, the Clippers have the best point guard in the NBA backed by one of the best current coaches to win a ring, who is also only the second coach in NBA history to defeat the almighty Phil Jackson in a Finals series. The path to an NBA Finals is never easy - trials and test of character will always be on. A lot of greats have had to suffer from harsh criticism before reaching the promised land, and there's a ton - LeBron, Duncan, Nowitzki, Kobe, Shaq, Gasol, Jordan, Magic, Olajuwon, Kareem, Malone, Stockton, Payton. Some of them failed to ever win an NBA championship and they'll forever be questioned because of that lack of substantial evidence, but they're still great players in the eyes of the Basketball Hall Of Fame. If the Clippers want to become true title contenders, they will have to accept the criticism that is out there. The secret they must master is, not allowing the criticism to hinder their game and progress. They must face this danger head on, feel the highs and the lows of the journey, and take their lumps when it's necessary.

Successful character is built by tragedy. Without a bad beginning, there can never be a fairy tale ending. Championships cannot be won in a snap. Hard work, dedication, focus and a lot of time is needed before the results are finalized. Every time the media says something negative about the Clippers, remember that the real message they're saying is this: "Prove me wrong."

And in time, they will.

TNT has exclusive rights as does ABC, so that's not going to be changing anytime soon. Although, you will have the option of watching the Prime Ticket broadcast vs the TNT broadcast in April.

My main beef with the broadcast coverage is that the late game/west game usually has a late start or we end up missing the start of the game. If the early game goes to overtime, the viewers may end up missing most if not the entire 1st quarter. Instead of having games at 5 & 7:30 (or in this case, 4 and 6:30) they should switch to 4:30 and 7:30. They can go to the studio during the break if there is time.

As far as their "analysts" go. My main beef is when they fail to put certain things into proper context. At the moment, Orlando is playing very good basketball. 4th best defense. Undefeated at home. They've whooped the Pelicans and the Nets. They're losses have come against 2 teams with a combined record of 8-2 (Indiana & Minny). One of those losses were in overtime where they lost by 5 to Minny. In the Indiana game, they had them on the ropes for a nice chunk of the game. Vucevic had a 20/29 game and a 25/21 game against Miami last season. He eclipsed 20 rebounds with 20 points or more (including a 30 point game) 2 other times last season. He's done this stuff before and is very nice player. He may not have the name, but he's a good up-and-comer.

People like Reggie, Kenny, etc. are always talking about being able to command a double so that you can pass out to an open shooter. That happens where the ball is passed to an open man and you are still complaining. There's always going to be something to nitpick on. This team could be doing a number of things well and playing very solidly, but the criticisms are going to still going to come. I don't mind hearing a critique on the team where positives and negatives are addressed and discussed in detail, but that's not really what Chuck and the others do. They cherry pick and they pour on and on and on. Right now, some of their panel have their whipping boys. Shaq's is Dwight and his challenge to big men to put up 28 & 15 when he's never done that himself over the course of the season. He did it twice in the playoffs, but he brings this up in the regular season endlessly. Chuck's whipping boy is definitely Blake. If you listen to everything that he says, you would think that Blake is one of the worst players in the league. He did once say, "I mean he's good, but..." If you listen to his analysis, you wouldn't believe that he thinks he's good at all. He's not going to care about efficiency or any of that other stuff, so I'm not going to expect it any time soon. It's also a reason why he won't be a GM in this league despite him having a desire to become one. I was a fan of Chuck when he was a player and still like the dude today, but I really don't care to hear him cover Clipper games.

Wammy I said Fox Sports or the Disney Networks (ESPN, ABC).
I don't even mind criticism of the team or its players....but as MK says...wheres the context?

anybody with half a brain can tell that we haven't jelled yet and the team's rotations on defense suffer because of it. There's a difference between practicing it and trusting it in the game situation. Reggie Miller spent the whole night going to town on us when those lapses occurred and NEVER ONCE took the time to say that this was only game 6 under Doc Rivers and that we needed to jell....no...just spend the whole night laughing his ass off when ever a rotation was missed...as if we were getting blown out by 30.

1. i thought Blake and Dre hit the boards hard early...and we were winning the rebound game at the half....which was part of the reason we controlled the tempo and had a lead.
2. I think when the game was getting away from us, Griffin had some key buckets to keep it close.

it was (Please Use More Appropriate Word) of him to say he had no impact on the game when you're playing a championship team and they're hitting on all cylinders. Miami put together a playoff/ Finals like effort on defense in the 2nd half and took us out of our element.

national broadcasting comes with success. we've had just enough to warrant the TNT broadcasting. i hate their commentary too, but the right way to change all that is not to boycott the network with broadcasters who bashes us but rather to win, and keep winning no matter what, and win all the way to the ship to shut them up.

winning will cure everything. we just have got to do it.

I agree. These TNT guys are outright terrible. Just completely awful.

I don't mind criticism. Some of it is definitely valid. They need to work on their defense. Blake and Jordan still need to improve their offensive skills.

However, Blake has definitely improved his jump shot and has some decent post moves. Not great moves, but he some decent ones. You would never know that watching TNT. He had the best game out of anybody on the Clippers against Miami, but watching TNT you'd think he had the worst game. If anything, Chris Paul played subpar and if they wanted to blame somebody, it should have been him.

THere was one play that Miller highlighted as a mistake that was the right play. Blake was being double teamed and he kicked it out to a wide open CP3 for a 3 pointer. CP3 missed the shot, but it was definitely the right play.

I understand that Twitter broke on opening night...that Reggie Miller spent the entire night saying Griffin didn't improve crap...and I understand how much hate he gets.

but I'm loving the way my PF is progressing.
I understand most ppl will stick to their guns from opening night and everything Reggie Miller and Chuck say.
but I AM happy with his progress through the 1st 8 games and where I think he'll be by the end of the season.

the less attention we get the better. just look at the spurts . none ever talks about the spurs. look what they doing

The worst part on TNT for me is just how often they minimize the game so they can use half of the screen to show adds for upcoming games or interview people DURING THE GAME!

I have to give Barkley props for what he and Shaq did last night. During the Rockets/Knicks game, Dwight had some trouble trying to score on Bargnani. He also was held to single digit scoring with about 5 field goal attempts. Chuck and Shaq took the time to school their whipping boys. They went to the court and went over what they felt both Blake and Dwight should be doing on offense in the post and where they should try to position themselves. It was criticism with an explanation/demonstration. That's way more productive than just saying some dude sucks. I hope Blake was watching.

WELL...umm...i may not be all there...but I can think of one big who does that BETTER than any other big in the league and puts pressure on teams all night by doing it.

and I'm seriously offended as a fan that Charles said:

1) he didn't work on his game this offseason
2) he could tell we're not winning it all this season and he can tell after 5 games.

I thought other things were on point though.
Barkley's talk about the work before the catch...where they want it on the block, letting the guy have the block if they're fronting and sealing for when it's swung around.
Shaq talking about a go to move and a counter.
