Am I the only one who wants to actually see what Reggie Bullock has and see if how much he can contribute?
I've read that on this forum before....maybe they were just bitter Celtic fans.


but the kid is low maintenance...he's not a ball handler...just a low 1st round 3 and D guy.
the lumps and bruises with him wouldn't be the same as higher draft picks with a more significant upside.

Why am I saying this?
1. I was pissed CP n Jamal didn't try to get him a 3 ball in the game against OKC.
side note: i was feeling a little more comfortable with the game than I should have been feeling and OKC proved that late....but I'm just telling u how I felt while RB was playing.

2. I want to see how this kid adjusts defensively. Something tells me that if we give him a shot, he'll be apart of the best defensive lineup we put on the floor.

would love to see a combo of him and Dudley on the floor eventually.

I was at the game and he actually got a standing ovation as he sat down near the end of the game. he's a capable player, i think a lot of us know that... but with MattyB there, i'd rather have MattyB than bullock play majority of the time.

What lineup would he be in that would still fit our mold? It's also matchup dependent and i don't think there is any team or lineup that we would need to have him and mattyB in at the same time or have bullock play over mattyB.

He does need a bit more strength for SF right now and there isn't really room for him to be playing the 2. That doesn't mean he can't play the three right now, he can, but for extended minutes he needs that. Just like the 2, unless someone is out, the 3 is also pretty crowded right now.

I'd like to see Bullock get more time, but it's been kind of hard to just throw him out there. He missed training camp and only got a couple preseason games in. He did surprisingly well against OKC and I hope that serves as a confidence builder for himself and for Doc in him. I think small ball lineups are the best opportunity for him to get minutes when everyone is healthy.

there's a ton of upside to him playing now.

and to not play him because he's blocked....i think it would be a year wasted in his development.
he is a pick we need to hit on and so is our next pick.

Bullock is a very good help defender. He helped on a DeAndre Jordan block and a Jamal Crawford steal in the third quarter. He also prevented an assist by forcing a turnover with some help from Ryan Hollins in the fourth. He was a positive influence with the Clippers alright, posting a +12 in the Difference column. And he did all this in five minutes.

And Quake, he actually likes the shooting guard position. But he can play between two to four, and in the Thunder game, he served as a small five.

If the Clippers do sign Lamar Odom as some reports have surfaced, Willie Green could be traded to allow Bullock to slide into the two spot. But there are rumors going around that the Clippers may extend making moves before the March 1 Playoff Eligibility Deadline, which might affect Bullock's playing time.

I also would like to see Bullock get some more game experience. I think he could be useful as a defensive SG to match up against players like kobe and wade. Let's face it, Crawford can't play defense.

and to keep this point TOTALLY IN PERSPECTIVE, a lot of Rondo's issues with Doc came from unfair treatment of the big three compared to the rest of the team. If you view it in that light, you can see how Rondo's rookie/ little/ younger guy status became hard for him to shake even as he grew and became a top PG in the NBA.

I mean...did he really trust Avery Bradley or did Ray Allen just get hurt?

I dunno to be honest. I've just heard some Celtics fans say that on this forum.
And I don't want that to happen because I think we need to give Reggie confidence to knock down shots in this league, that he's apart of our plans...not just offensively, but I want to see him get more reps against vets and understanding their tricks on the offensive end....because I truly believe he and another wing is going to be a part of our best defensive line up.

It was great to see him picking up Durant for a little bit last game.

The "Rivers doesn't play youngsters" thing is unfouded and has been vastly overstated by bitter Boston fans, I'd like to hear about other coaches that can let a raw, late 1st round pick like Rondo grow into a perennial all-star, while making everyone agree that a young Perkins was an integral part of a championship team. Other late drafted young guys like Powe, Tony Allen or Davis were key rotation pieces of his championship runs as well. How many coaches can extract so much value of young players like 3rd year Al Jefferson and sophomores Gerald Green and Ryan Gomes, to the point that they bring you back a superstar in his prime like Kevin Garnett in a trade? where's all this "he can't develop rookies" nonsense coming from, is it because of Avery Bradley? cause he still turned quite alright too.

I like Bullock and hope he turns into a valuable piece for us, but he's a rookie role player and we are a veteran team that's trying to gel and fit the pieces to be able to contend sometime in the near future. There's no time to experiment and play the rookies even if it's a detriment to the team's wins.

this kid is going to have to grow.

our best chance of beating OKC is that he grows, develops and picks up RW for us so CP doesn't have to use energy guarding him.

i mean...sure this implicates that Redick isn't the guy long term...but I feel like Reggie has to grow into that guy....sorry JJ
