Rivers tired of pouting.

Doc Rivers expressed frustration with the Los Angeles Clippers about the state of their maturity following an 88-82 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
"We did a lot of pouting in the game," Rivers said Saturday. "You can't play that way. You have to keep playing. I always call them emotional hijacks, and we had a lot of that going on. That happens, but you have to be able to pull yourself out of it individually or as a group, and I don't think we did a good job of that."
Rivers has been critical of the Clippers' body language dating back to training camp.
"When we become a good team, if we become a good team, it will be because we miss 30 shots in a row and you wouldn't know it," Rivers said. "We just keep playing. You get some bad calls on you and you just keep playing. Right now we're not at that point maturity-wise. When we go bad, we start thinking bad. That's an area we have to grow in. …You can preach it but it's a habit and you have to get over it. There's been times where we've fought it and did good job, and this is one of those nights where we didn't."

I am tired of our 7 Million Dollar a year & his 7 Assistant coaches not having the Clips mentally prepared against weaker opponents. Rivers should stop complaining & implement the "D" that he said he was bringing.

You can't make gold out of turd. We need better defenders. Dudley has been a dud on D. The bench is filled with atrocious defenders outside of Barnes. Redick and Barnes are out. Now DJ and Bullock.

Ask our V.P. of Basketball Operations about his choice of turd, it's the player's & coaches attitudes not the ability.

i can really only argue that it's too soon to really judge what's going on ...

we're going from a showboat mentality to a championship one and that doesn't happen overnight...
pouting happens with kids, so they gotta mature and i'm just hoping doc is doin some behind the doors butt whoopin with a leather belt ....

Glad no one pouted tonight in Philly. I do respect Doc's tough love approach.

Wonder what happens when everyone is healthy. Jackson probably will want to start over Dud.

if you're better than somebody, you're better.
if SJ is playing better than Dudley, I expect him to tell the Doc he is playing better than Dudley.
it's not his fault if the coach ignores that fact and wants to go with Dudley anyway.
and I'd totally understand him.
geez Manu sucked in those finals last year.
Looks like Bill Simmons was right.

One could argue that Rivers pouted his way out of Boston. Don't get me wrong. I'm glad he's here and appreciate what he's done for the team, especially DeAndre Jordan, but he should have owned up to the way he left Boston from the very beginning. Adrian Wojnarowski may have been a mouthpiece for the Celtics, but it turns out that they were in the right.
CBS Boston (12/10/13)“I did at the end of the day,” Rivers admitted. “You make choices in your life, it happens… It was a very difficult decision for me to make; whether to walk away and sit a couple of years, which was another way I was leaning, or if the right job presented itself to walk away and do that.

I think Rivers calling his team out publicly (besides what he might have said to the team privately) is part of the process of changing things. The team had sort of established this bad habit over the last couple of seasons, fair enough when you are a young, improving team. It should have been nipped in the bud anyway, because once you let it go it becomes a easy mindset to fall into when something goes against you on the court.
One of the players said he would describe it more as being frustrated than pouting. Yes, maybe, but whatever you call it, the problem is that it takes you out of the game, and hurts your focus.

pouting sounds better than frustration when it comes to making fun of a team... i mean... cmon... "you better watch out, you better not cry, better not
pout..." xD oh journalists are funny.

what I didn't like is how blake griffin said that he didn't think they were pouting. Its not a good sign to me when your superstar player isn't willing to admit he was being a baby. Blake is #1 in the league at complaing, then putting his head down and jogging to the deffensive end while the other team scores.
I hate and love blake at the same time... ha

i'm pretty sure he's not #1 in complaining... but when you put the rest of it together.... then yes he is. lol
