...in a timely manner

gotta say. Basketball is a great sport.
but the NBA can really work the nerves of its fans.
I hope Matt Barnes is able to appeal this and does appeal it. When the referee is clearly in error, the responsibility for what ensues should be on his shoulders.

it's like obtaining illegal evidence and convicting someone with it

The NBA fined Los Angeles Clippers forward Matt Barnes $25,000 for failing to leave the court in a timely manner after his ejection, the league announced.

Barnes was ejected with 56 seconds left in the third quarter of a 120-116 overtime win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Sunday night.

Timberwolves forward Kevin Love was driving to the basket and Barnes fouled him hard. The officials upgraded the foul from a flagrant 1 to a flagrant 2 and ejected him.

This is disgraceful. Its not like was even up in the air and the foul was all ball with body contact. So Love can elbow Griffin and not get kicked out but fouling a guy is this? Terrible call and the delay never would of happened if they got it right.

Matt finally gets a pay raise and that extra money is going to fines.

I hope he fights this one.

ha, typical NBA. they admit that the refs made a mistake by down grading flagrant 2 to flagrant 1, yet they fine the guy for complaining that the refs got it wrong. frankly, it was questionable that it was a flagrant 1 at all.this is like as if a guy on death row proves his innocence but still gets shot for contempt of the court. he went for the ball, and yeah he got some body, but KLove managed to elbow blake blatantly on his head, and refs made no call as blake was bleeding from the elbow blow.

this is the reason why i spend more time searching and reading through major league baseball news along with japanese NPB and south korean KBO news far more than actually watching any NBA games. it is predicable and you know it is more corrupt than the black sox scandal. if it wasn't for the clips, there is absolutely no reason what so ever to be watching NBA. and this is from a life long clipper fan with a half court built in the back yard with a regulation tempered glass with a one piece pole and a concrete custom court in rainy oregon.

everyone at staples was on their feet clapping and cheering matty B on as everyone in the arena and world knew that he went for the ball, even if it was hard, but klove made 2-3 and 1's already prior to that. at that point, it was warranted to make sure he didn't make another.

What the NBA should be concerned about...

...is that even with the benefit of replay, Marc Davis still went ahead and made the wrong call due to his own personal bias and/or incompetence. If he isn't reprimanded, he should at least be under more scrutiny.
