Who should I watch for?
Jazz
Trey Burke has been a handy pick up for the Jazz, averaging 13.5 ppg and 5.1 assists on only 1.7 turnovers, a surprisingly good 3:1 assist:turnover ratio for a rookie point guard who has no real skilled veteran point guard to show him the ropes. Since Burke took up a starters role, the Jazz are 8-10 which is a nice change after going 1-13 in the games prior.

Although the Jazz don't really have that superstar (or even allstar) calibre player yet, they do have plenty of skilled young players and handy role players for Burke to feed.

Derrick Favors is coming off hitting the game winner over the Lakers last night. I thought I'd mention that again.

We really need the win tonight after those two tough losses. I'm hoping that we are able to regroup and get the job done. This is one of those games that we could overlook, so I hope we're ready.

STATS LLC (12/28/13)
The Clippers (20-11) are coming off a 116-112 overtime loss at Portland on Thursday despite committing a season-low six turnovers to the Trail Blazers' 17.

One of their biggest disadvantages came on the glass where they were outrebounded 60-48.

"They didn't actually get them (rebounds) when we went small, which is amazing," coach Doc Rivers said. "We were helping a lot. When you have to help, it does create somebody with a body off of them and I thought they took advantage of that."

However, it was also the fifth straight game in which Los Angeles was outrebounded after losing out 49-38 in Wednesday's 105-103 loss at Golden State. Rivers' team is being outrebounded by an average of minus-8.4 over the last five contests, far worse than its minus-1.5 margin on the season.

Other than DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin, Chris Paul's 3.8 rebounds per game are the most on the team during the last five games.

we def need a better rebounding SF.

i say we give Dudley a few ticks to let him fully recuperate and get healthy.
no point in letting him struggle to try and get it right if he's not feeling right.

anywho.
Hollins out for tonight.
we'll be thin on the bench

AFA is a free agent after this season. :D

seriously though, we need better bench. if we have a backup big who can rebound, all these issues will work itself out even if dudley is our SF. scouting report on Hollins says, "Hollins is a pure shot blocker with athleticism to dunk in transition, but have little to no basketball skills to position himself for a rebound or do anything else". Byron Mullens doesn't get much better, especially in rebounding.

we need a backup big pronto. i don't care if Lamar is a crackhead. bring him in already. bite the bullet and pay the damn lux tax and cut Wayns even if it guarantees his salary against the cap and sign Lamar. we need a bench big who can rebound and play some goddamn defense.

20-17 Clips down by 3 in the first quarter. there is no urgency i was hoping to see other than CP3. we need to come out with more energy and start executing.

Green has lost any mojo from last year. He was better than this.

43-42 clips down by 1 at the half. we are as flat as we can be, and lucky to be only down by 1. come on clippers we need to come out and shut the door on these Utahans.
