I know its the past and its water under the bridge but it still pops in my head from time to time especially while watching yesterdays game and considering he's in MVP talks this year. Plus we've really never had that solid SF to lock in for the future since like forever.. I'm originally from Fresno and I watched him at Fresno State so I was really hoping that he would become a Clipper.. and its crazy cause he's from Palmdale and he wanted to become a Clipper.

used to bother me a ton, but the more i think about it, not drafting PG has its benefits.

for one, we could have drafted George and not knowing fully what we had in our hands, we probably would have packaged him along with EJ to the Hornets for CP3 anyhow. we could have been the team giving up 1 future superstar and 1 all star quality players for 1 fragile superstar in return and be a laughing stock still.

conversely, we found out early what we had in our hands in Paul George and decided against the CP3 trade, CP would be wearing a purple and piss by now, and with CP3 in charge of last year's debacle that was the flakers, they could have gone all the way while we are laboring in this tough western conference to crack the playoffs, a la Minnesota T wolves.

lastly, if we did keep our players, EJ would have been the other one to get the max deal next to blake, and we could have been watching Paul George leave the way James Harden left the Thunder while EJ sits on the bench in his suits with injury after injury.

all scenarios are heartbreaking. I like where we are right now. just got to hope CP3 comes back strong and no nagging injury problems from here on out.

It does, but we've also considered that since PG wasn't projected to be a superstar, it is possible that he would have been included in the CP trade. He was an 8/4/1 player as a rookie in 20.7 mins (14/6/2 per 36). In his second season, he was a 12/6/2 player in 29.7 mins (15/7/3 per 36). Obviously a player that would be really nice to have on this team, but hindsight is 20/20.

someone posted this same topic when we last played the Pacers, its HISTORY, not much we can do about it now.

I've thought about this a little bit. The funny thing is right after we drafted Aminu on draft night I said to my cousin that George was going to be the better player and he agree. However, I don't kill myself over this because I feel like we would have just traded George to New Orleans anyways.

I'm really happy where the team is at and it's great that George has having his success. Who knows maybe we'll see Paul George in a Clipper uniform one day.

IMO Paul George mentored by Vinny would have stopped PG from becoming the talent that he is now. He needed epic coaching to get to where he is and we could not have given him that.

In hindsight, sure. If the Clippers knew how good he would become, then he, Blake and Paul would be a phenomenal three-headed monster.

I just do not believe that he would still be a member of the Clippers today had we drafted him. I firmly believe that he would have been included in the trade for Paul instead of Aminu. That would really make New Orleans scary looking moving forward. In the public's eye, we would have been the team to give up the likes of Irving and George in a matter of months. I definitely wouldn't want to hear that. It could be argued that the Clippers would have easily moved Bledsoe instead of George had we drafted George instead of Aminu, but we really don't know the answer to that. At the end of the day, I'm glad he's in the eastern conference since he's isn't on this team.

Would not matter at all he would of been traded. George would of been traded because we needed Bledsoe in case Paul decided to walk in free agency.Only way I see George staying is if we never traded Baron with the pick because whether it was still going to be Kyrie or just the 8th pick all things the same we could of moved the player in that draft over George. I really wouldn't mind having Aminu on the team right now matter of fact with the inconsistency of Dudley. Aminu is no where near the shooter but the rebounding, defense, length, and ability to run the floor with his youth would be a great long term piece.

People really want to look at everything 2011 NBA draft was a huge step back for the organization in potential hindsight. Not only did we mess up the first round pick completely missed on TWO second rounders. Trey could of been Parsons, Leur or very least Tyler and Travis seemed to be let go before anything happened.

I don't think its worth Dwelling on:
we could have had, Dirk Nowitzki, Paul Pierce or Vince Carter and took Michael Olowokandi,
We could of had Amar'e Stoudemire and took Chris Wilcox
We could of had Luol Deng or Andre Iguodala and we took Shaun Livingston
or my personal favorite was drafting Yaroslav Korolev instead of Danny Granger,what a bust he was.

Its best to just look forward and be thankful for the awesome squad we are working with now

not as much as drafting koralev over granger.

at least aminu helped land us cp3.

Hey at least we are not the Blazers, they passed up Jordan for Sam Bowie, and Kevin Durant for Greg Oden! And both by just one pick!!!

I'm thoroughly bothered especially since the kid grew up a LAC fan and actually wanted to play for us.

Paul George showed promise early on, I highly doubt we would've packaged him up for CP3. A team of Paul George, Blake, DJ, and maybe Bledsoe and Eric Gordan???

Paul George showed promise early on, I highly doubt we would've packaged him up for CP3. A team of Paul George, Blake, DJ, and maybe Bledsoe and Eric Gordan???

that's not possible. CP3 - Blake - Gordon on the same team would mean that we are paying 3 maximum contracts, which is not exactly feasible under the new collective bargaining agreement... not to mention PG's max extension coming up and bledsoe wanting something close to a max deal. we would need some serious discounts from all the members included to make this team work, and i can't imagine any of them willingly getting a pay cut to stay a clipper.

Parsons is just the SF we need sad that we missed him. Oh well.
