Clippers are a happier team without CP3
It's Sad but true we talk about blake being more of a leader and managing the fast breaks and DJ playing out his mind and Crawford avg 20PPG,5APG. They look more free out there CP3 isnt out there dominating the ball so it's faster better ball movement constantly rather then chris trying to put people in direction.Cp3 is one of the best guards in this league talent wise but this isnt the new orleans hornets back then he has other stars on this team that he should trust more.

Everyone is happy when we are winning. I have no doubt Doc is learning a lot about the team during this period and when CP3 comes back we will be even better.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ I think Angel Strike says it best, Good Teams step up when needed. This is actually a good thing that the team has jelled, DJ & Blake have taken bigger leader roles, but CP3 needs to get back soon.
I don't think I agree w/ your take General.

Its true the teams Happy index is much higher without Paul, we know this because the teams weekly required Happiness test
Good teams step up during the injury of a star player, particularly against bad teams which we have been playing lately. I'm sure they are all plenty happy with our without Chris

Re: Clippers are a happier team without CP3
All jokes aside, I'm sure the players are happier that a guy who only comes up to their belly-button isn't around to yell at them for 48 minutes; that doesn't mean the team is better without him though.
I tip my cap to Doc & Blake for keeping this team on-pace to have home-court advantage for the playoffs; but when things get tight & our season is on-the-line, we're going to need CP3 to drag this band-of-misfits across the finish-line...kicking & screaming if necessary.

Foolish. If anything we're getting by w/o Paul but we will need our floor gen for the long haul.

This team for damn sure misses Paul on the road we have been crap on the road all year so would be nice to get him back fast.
In agreement...kinda.

At the risk of inviting rotten tomatoes thrown in my direction, I actually agree with general's statement to some degree, but I don't subscribe to the implication that the team is better off without CP3 or that the team does not want him to return, which I'm not sure the opening post is implying.
As DLaren said, I'm sure his teammates are enjoying the break from Paul's taskmaster scoldings and certain players are enjoying the opportunity to showcase their playmaking abilities in the absence of the ball-dominating omnipotence of the Point God.
Collison is taking advantage of his temporary starting position in trying to convince other teams that he's worthy of another shot as a starting PG, but to be honest, he hasn't shown anything new from his previous performance before joining the Clippers. I'm not saying he isn't worthy of starting as he's been a valued member of the team, but he is what he was before signing on with us this season.
Crawford and Griffin, in particular, have stepped up in filling the playmaking void left after Paul's injury and they seem to be flourishing together in creating some good chemistry while both are on the floor. Both are willing to give up the ball because they each know the other is not hesitant to give it right back for a better shot opportunity while still allowing for their respective iso games: Blake typically in the post and Jamal on the perimeter. It's actually been a joy to see these two play together.
Redick also seems to fit in with the Crawford-Griffin dynamic as an under-rated playmaker himself with the lethal shooting, constant movement, and floor spacing he provides.
This has been a great display of the Clippers stepping up their play without their leader while also exhibiting growth in their respective games and being further acclimated into the offensive system. Again, having said all that, this team needs Chris Paul in order advance deep into the postseason. He is not only the maestro who directs the offense, but is arguably our best individual defender in terms of consistency and pressuring the opposition. His will to win will push the team to perform better even if it may be a bit uncomfortable for his teammates to deal with at times.
Really, you can't be considered a better team by taking your true superstar off the roster, particularly one whose metrics have consistently shown that he not only makes his teammates better given the "Chris Paul Effect" but he's arguably the best at it.

Re: Clippers are a happier team without CP3
I love how it's always time to talk about CP3's bulldog attitude and how he can be tough on teammates.
so his job as the $108 million dollar man is to sit by and not demand the best from his teammates?
what you want him to do as our 108 million dollar man? Stand there and go, "well, I don't have a championship, so I'm not going to say anything."
screw that and screw this effing topic.
it's so damn funny how we're happier with CP out of the lineup because we're trust Doc n blah blah blah.
LMAO...we wouldn't even have Doc if this dude didn't pressure our organization into bettering itself and making a move to get him so he could re-sign here.
oh the ironing board.

^We wouldn't have Doc is we didn't have CP either just to add on to that.
I don't get it though, CP is still on the bench giving words to the guys when necessary, not like he went away.

Re: Clippers are a happier team without CP3
We are def better w cp3, but I give mad props to DC and everyone else who's stepped up to keep us winning while CP is out. I honestly was worried we would drop from 4th to the 6/7 seed and have to climb back up, so this has been a great stretch IMO, except for in Charlotte

Re: Clippers are a happier team without CP3
We all know Paul can dribble too much, even dribble out the shot clock. I wouldn't say the team is happier but the offense does flow much better when the ball is moving around. This is a fact. Even Doc knows this. We need CP3, and he's a hell of a closer in close games but Doc gonna have to get him to move that ball around. Hell I'm even seeing people say we should trade Paul on other boards. Yes its ludicrous but at the same time don't dismiss how this team is looking on offense right now without our ball dominate point guard out there.

Re: Clippers are a happier team without CP3
I'm sure that certain players are embracing the opportunity to have a larger role or see increased minutes. No matter who you are, you want to play.
In terms of long-term benefit, it can pay dividends in the postseason. The players have to know that they can play without Paul or that they are capable performing at a high level despite adversity. The soft schedule certainly helps, but it's a confidence builder. I'm anxious to see how everyone adjusts when we're back at full health.
As far as anyone saying or thinking that Paul should be traded or that his teammates are truly happy to be without him...talk about a knee-jerk reaction. Most of these guys are on the team because of him and to play with him. Players took less money or a lesser role to join the team in hopes of winning. They could have had fun elsewhere.
