This is the fact. David Griffin understands LeBron perfectly. And from the athlete's POV, nor should LeBron care. Aside from that Curry kid, I AM the NBA.

But because he will not accept less than the max--and only on one-year contracts--Bron has also created his own predicament--where a Jeff Green gets serious minutes on a Finals team--because the Cavs couldn't afford any more talent without trading away their future.

No, the Cavs didn't go all-in on Bron this year. Yes, they could have churned up a deal that got them DJ and probably Lou Williams if they were only willing to part with the New Jersey pick. But ownership doesn't trust him to stay--nor should they. And trading for DJ and Lou probably would have made no difference. [Though I bet the Cavs would have won a game or 2...]

Cavs already went in on LeBron and traded Kyrie away for what amounted to a bag of Ainge's brokeass magic beans [Avery Bradley, Isaiah Thomas] and the NJ pick. The NJ pick is all they have left.

And the Cavs had the highest payroll this year [$138M], and it looks like they're already capped out next year too even if LeBron opts out.

Then the biggest irony here is that David Griffin is under consideration for the Sixers' GM job and his first order of business would be to get LeBron [they are said to have a good relationship].

Man, the NBA is not only great sport, it's the greatest combination of money, math, and soap opera ever. [Although "Dallas" and "Empire" were pretty good.] How much money does Bron want? Where should his kids go to school next fall?

You know, it's been interesting to analyze, but I'm starting to feel really stupid about giving a damn about any of this. I don't give a **** about Lebron James. I had a great time when my Clippers were winning 50+ games a year.

Nice to have someone in the war room who knows exactly how he feels about being consistently the best player on his team but losing to better finals teams. Jerry commits to him to do everything he can to improve his "finals reputation," it could carry a lot of weight.

Just remembered that Jerry also has the added task of convincing LeGOAT that whatever happened between Doc and CP3 is the past and that Doc is great...and that Doc is in control of his last few years/ victory lap.

If LeBron doesn't want to play for Doc, we can always just fire Doc. Even Ballmer has to realize that he would be a laughingstock if he chose Doc over LeBron, right?

Are the Clippers going to make a big push for him?

After getting out from under Blake's big contract and avoiding giving Chris Paul a $200 million deal?

He'd also probably want a lot of spot-up shooters so a say in player personnel decisions.

Hmm, Clippers seem to be $12 million over the cap but they got several player options, DJ at $24 million, Austin at $12.65 and Teodesic at $6.3 million.

It's not a good free agent market for sellers, with only 6 teams with a a lot of cap space, so these players may all opt-in and wait for a better market in 2019.

If they opt out, Clippers could sign him without trading away any players they don't want, though they may want to move some players anyways?

I'm working the Fairfax Summer Classic, and there are rumblings that James will show up here after landing in Van Nuys this morning.

First off, Bron basically sponsers Fairfax and was here about a decade ago to donate equipment. He has stopped by on other occasions since.

Second, at 6PM, Bronny Jrs. speculated future HS (Sierra Canyon) plays the great Mater Dei in the finals, so Bron might want to see his sons future school in action.

I know I'm turning into a bit of TMZ here but it would be great to see James....and I'll try to get him to head to the Clips somehow lol
