According to Woj from yahoo Magic will buy him out. He's basically ours, let's be honest. I was for the trade idea of sending Dudley/Mullens for him but now we can possibly sign him out right.

he's better than any other option besides maybe Ivan Johnson- hopefully they sign both and maybe also a decent shooting guard (Rip Hamilton?)

Big Baby can at least hit a shot here and there and is a strong body, but he has weaknesses- he can't jump and sometimes thinks he is a better shooter than he is.

yeah. i can't say he's the backup big that completes our team but he's a hell of a lot better than the tripe we've been running out since the start of the season.

that said, he is productive and an extra offensive weapon off the bench to go alongside crawford could make us quite dangerous. and if we do end up signing granger/ivan johnson as well, i'll feel pretty good about our toughness levels entering the playoffs.

Glen Davis would be really nice. Shot selection can be wild at times, but he's a good defender and can spread the floor, very nice third big.

Davis would be a very good addition behind Blake. Light years better than anyone we have played at PF all year. That leaves 2 spots open, I like Ivan Johnson/Jason Collins.

Glen Davis and Danny Granger please. i have heard way too much about Ivan Johnson's antics for years and would rather not cross that bridge.

if we didn't sign Lamar for his personal issues. Ivan is a much worse distraction to others in the locker room than Lamar's crack habits or Collins' love life.

Big selling point for the Clips should be Doc Rivers, who coached Big Baby in Boston and won a ring with him there.

BTW: Nice peace from Bill Simmons and Zach Lowe at Grantland:

Bill Simmons (10:41 AM EST)
But they have to please Kyrie — he doesn’t make his teammates better, thrives in pickup games when there’s no defense, and has lost over 60 percent of the NBA games he’s played. You have to take care of guys like that! Here’s my question, Zach — where the hell were the Clippers on Hawes??? If the price was two second-rounders, they couldn’t have topped that? They have Ryan Hollins, Byron Mullens, Hedo Turkoglu, Keith Closs Jr., Mike Golic, Stan Verrett and Snoop Dogg as their backup bigs right now. Hawes REALLY would have helped. Explain this to me.

Zach Lowe (10:45 EST)
As for the Clips, well, Hawes is making $6.6 million this season, and the Clips are $2 million over the tax. So that’s hard to swallow, even though this is a freaking potential title contender in obvious need of a third quality big man

I think we could use a bruiser that can just shove Randolph or Bogut on their asses when they're trying to bully Blake and not care about a suspension. Plus he can play, and we have a strong coaching and locker room to keep his antics in check. I'd like both Johnson and Davis very much. It's not an ideal pairing to bring off the bench, but it's the best available and I can see it working.

As a Magic fan, I hated BBD. He didn't fit in what we were doing and took a ton of bad shots thinking he was the man.

However on a good contending team where he isn't a focal point. I think he would be a great addition, plus you guys will be paying jack **** for him, its a steal. He brings pretty good defense and a somewhat decent jumpshot with a good motor to boot.
