Granger is the #1 priority if he is bought out. The Clips getting MWP means we didn't get Granger.

The more I think about this the more I like the idea. I know he is a loose cannon at times and he really can't shoot anymore but what he still can do is play defense, get down low and mix it up, and rebound the ball. Add to that playoff and championship experience and i'll take it.
Granger has a bigger offensive upside, but we don't need anymore offense, we are sitting at second in the league in offense without JJ Redick or Glen Davis, we need rebounding, defense and attitude.

Even if we get Granger I wouldn't mind bringing in Artest as well. Davis and him would be small as a C and Pf off the bench but they would also cause matchup problems. Artest may not be able to play the 3 spot anymore but he has the strength to guard opposing 4's and his shooting can draw them out of the paint on offense.

Danny G Still Got Some D in Him

Actually, from what I've gathered, Granger is still an effective defender. He used to defend SF's and PF's pretty well and, if that is still the case, then he would afford this team with further versatility since Glen Davis can defend 4's and 5's.

"He used to" or He can? If he can still play D then I totally agree he should be the number one target.

Granger's Defense

His defense is still solid based on the quotes below, so I assume he can still guard 3's and 4's in terms of his versatility on D, but it's hard to say how effective he will be depending on individual matchups.

Tim McManus, The Philadelphia Inquirer (2/25/14)
Sixers forward Thaddeus Young said the 6-foot-9 Granger, who is coming off a knee injury last season, still can bring a lot to the table.

"He can do many things," Young said. "He's a pretty good defensive player, and a pretty good guy, from what I'm told."

Still no resolution for 76ers, Granger

Paul George, Instagram (2/21/14)
On a serious note upset day for me losing a big brother and mentor hate to see him leave us.. You helped me so far along the way big bro! Still one of my toughest match ups.. Nothing but love for you geezy!

Barry Jackson, Miami Herald (2/23/14)
Granger, 6-8, is shooting just 35.9 percent; Butler, 6-7, is shooting only 38.7 percent. But players guarded by Granger are shooting 30.9 percent, compared with 47 percent for Butler.

The scout board has crashed 3 times in the last week so I wanted to find another board to talk clips ball if it goes down again. I used to post on this board quite a bit back in the day but it wasn't as active as our old board. It looks like it has picked up though since the last time I posted here and there isn't a Bluejayclipper acting like a drama queen. That dude is getting on my last nerve.

Ha! Well, there's a great group of guys here. Discussions are pretty strong and the attitude is great. Hope you decide to stay, and bring some of the better long-time posters from Scout with you.

I see no point to add Metta. I would much rather take a shot on Granger's shooting and length/effort to earn a new contract over Metta's diminished game.
Plus, why would I want to go to the NBA? Duke players suck in the pros.
