Welcome back MK

The Pelicans played last night and we've had some time to rest. We will have to work in Granger and Glen Davis, and we don't have Crawford. I think we are talented enough and focused enough to over come all this and beat the Pelicans. However I don't guarantee any wins since you never know what will happen night to night in the NBA. Our team just needs to play well and hopefully we get a positive impact from Big Baby and Granger.

GameDay Notes & Thoughts

Eric Patten, Clippers.com (3/1/14)
THREE THINGS TO WATCH ON PRIME TICKET

- In the previous matchup with New Orleans on Monday the Clippers made 16 3-pointers, two shy of tying their franchise record. It should have come as little surprise that they would have offensive success against the Pelicans. While they are a middle of the road team in terms of 3-point defense, the Pelicans are 28th in defensive efficiency.

- The Pelicans are 20-6 when they outshoot their opponent from the field this season. However, they have not been able to do so in either of their two previous games against the Clippers.

- Blake Griffin is 40 rebounds away from reaching 3,000 for his career. Once Griffin, 24, has amassed 3,000 boards, he will become just the third player in NBA history to top 6,000 points, 3,000 rebounds and 1,000 assists while also shooting 50.0% or better from the field before the end of his fourth season. Hall of Famers Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Charles Barkley are the only other players to do so. Griffin will likely reach the milestone on Mar. 6 vs. the Lakers.

NOTES
Clippers forward and New Orleans native Danny Granger is expected to make his team debut on Saturday… The Pelicans are second in the NBA in 3-point shooting (38.5 percent)… Griffin can tie Dominique Wilkins for the most consecutive games (19) with 20 points or more if he reaches that number on Saturday… The Clippers are 24-5 at home, second in the NBA… They have won five in a row against the Pelicans overall and are 5-1 in their last six games against them at Staples Center…

Have injuries robbed Eric Gordon of his game and athleticism?

Jorge Sierra @hoopshype
That's an interesting question. I remember watching Eric Gordon at the World Championship in 2010 and thinking he was going to be a bona fide star. A lot of players on that team (Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook) became big names, but Gordon has not and it has not been a matter of talent. Injuries have obviously played a big role, but the trade to New Orleans didn't do him any favor either.

Good start on the Pelicans, they can't make much and we keep scoring on them. I don't think that we've played great, but we have the early lead.
