good, but defense is still hard to come by from our guard position not named Chris.

Even though he won't be a starter, if Crawford goes, I can see DC playing almost starter minutes.

Shows a lot by him to opt in. He could easily get a lot more money from free agency.

ESPN reporting Collison, Granger and Big Baby opted OUT of their contracts?

You know Granger has to feel like crap after seeing the Spurs win. I really don't see any of the three coming back.

wanted him to opt out so we could take a run at Bayless or Livingston.
both have a chance guarding westbrook.

Not huge on Bayless, but would like to get Shaun.
..oh, and the original report was just an assumption because Collison said he wanted to be back, but he meant be re-signed, not back as in opting in.
This is one of the things that makes me not so comfortable with Doc as the basketball operations guy because while Collison is nice, I'm not sold on signing him long term and handicapping ourselves into a position where we're playing two midget guys in the backcourt for significant game time. It's just not worth it to use that two PG lineup, and if you want to do it, you need to get a big PG like Shaun.

give me your reasoning on Bayless.
I sort of get it because he only has a half an inch of reach on Collison but he's much stronger and more athletic.
but if that's not what you were going for, then I'm interested in why you're not big on him.
Shaun is my #1 btw.
I want him before anybody.

It seems like ultimately Doc is going to end up playing two PG's for decent stretches, especially if we get a PG that will demand more than just the minutes available as Paul's backup. If Paul was Jason Kidd or Gary Payton, or Deron Williams, it's all good, but Paul despite his strength is small. The majority of the time with Collison, Paul ended up guarding SG's and he's having to expend extra energy fighting bigger guys in the post, which to me is just so unnecessary, but not just that, it hurt the defense because we had to be making adjustments to help the mis-match.
Now, Bayless at least is better off guarding SG's than Collison, but if we get any PG that Doc will end up playing next to Paul, I'd really like for it to be a PG that can actually guard SG's well. It's not actually that Bayless did anything wrong or is a bad backup PG, though to be thorough, he has struggled on the efficiency front the last two seasons and really he's only been an efficient scorer / offensive player for his 31 games in Toronto, but that's why he is a backup PG.
