Do the Clips have an open roster spot? If so, it might be wise to sign up Bynum once he is waived by the Celtics as an insurance policy if Farmar doesn't play better or gets injured. Bynum is a nice sparkplug off the bench. Very quick and athletic.

Yeh, he's much better than Farmar. Had they know Bynum was gonna be bought out they wouldn't have to spend the full BAE on Farmar, which wouldn't put us near the apron with 14 players, so we wouldn't be forced to give away a 1st with Dudley. And we'd have a better back up PG

Is he better than Farmar though? Or even if he is better, is he much better? He's better at some things, certainly, but I think if we balance out all the positives and negatives they would essentially give equal impact. Bynum is just as injury prone, just as turnover prone, not any sort of special playmaking PG either, has been called out for hero ball too.
Also he's like 32 years old...
Statistically if we compare career and last 2 seasons per 36:
Bynum career:
15.9 ppg / 3.1 rpg / 6.4 apg / 3.1 tpg / 1.4 spg / .512 TS% / 102 Ortg / 14.7 PER
Farmar career:
14.4 ppg / 3.6 rpg / 5.4apg / 2.6 tpg / 1.4 spg / .529 TS% / 103 Ortg / 13.5 PER
Bynum last 2:
17.8 ppg / 3.1 rpg / 7.1 apg / 3.6 tpg / 1.3 spg / .519 TS% / 103 Ortg / 15.6 PER
Farmar last 2:
17.0 ppg / 3.4 rpg / 6.8 apg / 3.4 tpg / 1.3 spg / .561 TS% / 105 Ortg / 16.1 PER
Farmar is a better shooter, younger of course, career wise slightly inferior scoring rate, they are similar passers, similar scoring efficiency. I don't remember either getting much love for their defense or ability to run teams. They are very similar players, just maybe with slightly different means of scoring.
It's more the possible price difference that hurts, though I'm not sure the team could still sign everyone it wanted it there was no Farmar and Dudley was retained. Ah well.

no.
I believe we had to give out a guaranteed contract to lure Kangaroo Joe away from riches of European/Israel basketball leagues. there is no detail on his contact yet but i remember reading about it being guaranteed. so we have all 15 spots filled. I like Cunningham tho, wish we could keep him too.

Jingles isn't guaranteed. There were some reports of it being guaranteed initially, but they were inaccurate.

thanks! I think the report i have seen must have been one of those initial reports. none the less, it seems Joe has played pretty good and certainly outplayed every SF other than CDR. I would much rather cut Hedo and make room for another player down the road but thats just me.
