Game #25: LA Clippers (17-7) vs Indiana Pacers (8-17)

Indiana (8-17) has lost six straight away from home, putting it on the verge of its worst road skid since dropping nine straight from Dec. 1, 2010-Jan. 8, 2011. The Pacers are also 3-9 when leaving the comfort of the East. After their current six-game stretch against the West, 17 of the next 23 games will be played in-conference.
They may also soon get a boost from George Hill, who took part in a full-court scrimmage Tuesday after missing the entire season with a torn quadriceps. While the point guard has been ruled out against Los Angeles, he could be back before Christmas.
"Despite our record, you still have to tip your hat to these guys," Hill told the team's official website. "These guys have been battling their butts off. We've just played a grueling schedule so far."
The Clippers (17-7), meanwhile, have won five straight at home and got things rolling again with Monday's 113-91 home win over Detroit after dropping games in Washington and Milwaukee. Those losses were preceded by a nine-game winning streak.
"It's crazy. When you play so many games, you think the team doesn't play off confidence. But I think we just needed to see again what it was like to defend and see the ball go through the net at the other end -- and to win," Paul said. "I think our spacing was a little better than the last two games, but our defense was better also.
"Hopefully we can start another streak now."

Hey all just came back from the Poconos. My mom came out to NY for a visit and I met her there, I'm sure I missed the 1st half. I hope we are doing well.

I had to hear most of the game on the radio. We let our lead slip away, but hopefully we can finish out the half in a strong fashion.

a part of the reason why the bench can't score is because it almost seems like Jamal never passes. he takes bad shots one after another and since some of them do go down, we accept the fact that he stops ball movements whenever he touches the ball just because he tends to make some impossible shots when he could have been making the most highest percentage shots by passing the ball to his open teammates.

I like Jamal, but he's such a frustrating player. He can make shots that nobody else can, but nobody else is taking those same shots either. He was struggling when Doc first came, because he was concerned that he would be expected to play more like Redick. If Jamal is moved, I think we bring in Shuttlesworth who could be a continuation of Redick off the bench.

I'm hoping that we can build a nice lead on the Pacers, I don't want them to keep close in this game.
Quick-Draw Redick

Clippers don't look sharp at all right now, but I'm particularly concerned with the pattern of Redick starting games off effectively only to fade for the rest of regulation time.
Edit: Right on cue after I say that, J.J. hits a 3-pointer to show some life.
Griffin Should Stick to Finishing

Griffin continues to get overly cute with his ball-handling with the muff on that fastbreak. Not surprisingly, he has 3 turnovers to his 4 assists so far.

The starters are not going to get the 4th quarter off tonight but some strong performances through 3 quarters for some key Clippers:
Blake Griffin
26 points | 13 rebounds | 5 assists | 1 steal | +10
Chris Paul
14 points | 7 assists | 5 steals | 3 rebounds | 0 turnovers | +11
DeAndre Jordan
10 points | 17 rebounds* | 2 blocks | +2
*DJ's career high in rebounds is 19

Scola did the Iguodala dance. Blown call that results in 2 points.

Somebody put a body on LaVoy Allen. He's getting uncontested offensive rebounds.

Clips (20-33) have missed 6 more free throws than the Pacers (13-20) and currently trail in the game by 3 points, 93-90.
Edit: Also on cue, DJ hits a free throw to cut it to a 2-point deficit. Then Matt Barnes misses 1 of 2 to cut the deficit to 1 instead of tying the game.
