Wilcox to Assigned to D-League

With the purported imminent waiving of Cunningham and now the demotion of Wilcox, it seems like a move is about to happen. It will probably be a signing rather than a trade at this point.

Additionally, a player who is sent to the D-League does not count as a free roster spot. It does, however, signal the coming of 10-day contracts now with Jared Cunningham waived. Brady Heslip and Khem Birch will be the first players the Clippers look into.

Good to see the D-League getting used for a player that could use the opportunity. It's not like he's learning anything in practice if we only have it once in a blue moon or when they're being cancelled. Hopefully the Clippers will have their own individual affiliate by this time next year.

Mad Ants win 96 - 94

Wilcox finished with 9 points (3/6 FG, 3/4 3PA), 2 rebounds, 1 TO & 1 PF in 14 minutes off the bench.

I meant to comment on this earlier. I'm glad that Wilcox is getting a chance to play in the D-League. I wasn't sure if Doc was going to send him down there. So at least he can get some PT until we may need him.

Dan Woike on CBS Eye On Basketball pod with Zach Harper yesterday said it looks like we're trying to showcase Wilcox in the D League so we can bring him back up to trade.

Maybe Philly asked for him to be sent before they knew if they wanted to trade Wroten?

At least he's getting to play. Question on how the D league works....is he still ours? Or could another team snag him for their own who shares the Mad Ants with us?
