Clippers' Barnes rewarded for persistence

With the weight of a public divorce wearing him down, Barnes had a nightmarish preseason, making – and these aren’t typos – 9.7 percent of his shots from the field and 5.6 percent from 3-point range.
“It’s tough. We’re all humans. People don’t realize it,” DeAndre Jordan said. “They just see the basketball player, and they don’t realize we have real-life problems just like everybody else. He’s dealt with it well and we’re here to support him.”
After 34 games, Barnes has flipped those numbers, hitting 46.9 percent from the field and 38.6 percent from 3-point range. In his last six games, he’s hit 48.5 percent from deep.
Barnes’ true shooting percentage, a metric that weighs 3’s more than 2’s, is 60.3 percent – a career-best. For context, J.J. Redick’s true shooting percentage is 63.1, the second time he’s ever been over 60 percent.
“It’s night and day,” Barnes said of how he’s feeling. “It’s never easy to basically lose your family, and I’m going through that on a world stage. I still have to come out here and perform every night. But, it’s definitely getting easier. Now, I’m just able to focus on basketball and do what I do.”

I've intentionally not followed him and his wife in the media to avoid keeping up with their nonsense?
wasn't she on some tv program? bball wives?
isn't she known for being in the street and sleeping with other high profile people?

Great to see Matt bounce back after that horrible start.

Oh crap I never knew he had one of those wives. I make a point to stay away from all that kind of stuff. Its great to see Matt come out the other side and just ball out. Then again, coming through adversity is what Matt Barnes has done his entire career.
