I know fans hate us, but this is the first I've heard of people IN the league hating us.

I'm getting really sick of the whole "entitled" / "act like they've won it all" schtick because frankly I don't even know what it means. It's basically a kitsch media buzzword that isn't in any way substantiated - and I'm not just talking about the Clippers, but any team that the media lazily applies it to. Do the players show up and play awful because they expect to automatically win? Do the players think they don't have to exert any effort because they have false memories of grandeur that they've won championships in the past? Even so, I don't know how you get from past winning championships to present autopilot. Regardless, I'm pretty sure they're aware that they've never even been to the WCF and are trying to get there.
People just need to recognize that this team, like many others that get that idiotic "entitled," label has flaws and shockingly isn't going to win every single game. Sometimes they're going to get their flaws exposed. Sometimes they're going to blow out good teams. It's the nature of the variability in sports. Sure it pisses me off when the team comes out and looks awful, but I don't think their weak play is because of "entitlement" or "acting like / thinking they've won it all."
I get why the Clippers are a hated team, but to base it on the team being "entitled" is nonsense. I know it's just Bill Simmons spouting off with his armchair theories, but if refs actually have preconceived notions against the Clippers because they think the team acts "entitled," then that's a serious problem and shows how irrationally biased officiating can be. The only reason it can be validated is because people are generally dumb enough to buy into the media manufactured narrative of entitlement in sports. Complaining about trash calls doesn't make you entitled, it makes you reasonably self interested, and everyone does it.

Bill Simmons is obviously very biased- his well known dislike of Doc Rivers is why he rants against the CLippers all the time. His claims are totally baseless. Many teams complain just as much if not more than the Clippers.

One thing people have to understand is that we play "in the shadow" of the Lakers.
Division titles and Conference titles DONT MATTER. UCLA doesnt have Final Four banners and the Lakers don't hang conference champ banners….all that matters is championships.
If you want to be upset that we have an attitude like we've won a championship…look at yourself and realize that we know no matter what we do that you wont give us any credit until we get a championship.

Not sure about the "entitled" thing, but it does seem like CP3/Blake/Doc/Barnes are ALWAYS arguing with the refs. When I watch your games I think, "come on guys, just play the game." Every team beefs with the refs, but at some point, enough is enough. It must take away a lot of energy and focus. Just throwing it out there.

I very rarely agree with the extreme POV M2V has offered through out the season, and I don't care for Bill Simmons and his obvious anti-Doc/create chaos to get the Cs a better pick agenda.
That being said, I really dislike this team at the moment. I was watching updates for today's game on Twitter, and I just felt like I didnt care as the game swung against us.
I like our guys, but our team and coach exudes arrogance this season and they haven't been a fun team to support; I've already said here before our tank teams were more fun than this season's team. I just wish we had a GM to pull them and the coach into line.

this isn't anywhere close to being accurate.

At least the scrub teams played hard sometimes and pretended to give a ****. This year's team puts forth zero effort and embarrasses their fans every night with their on-court histrionics. The only thing this coach and these players care about is their paychecks. It's like a team full of Andre Millers.

True, but I tie it more to their nice-guy image and reputation. Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Doc Rivers: they're all nice guys and respectable human beings off the court. Paul has done a lot of humanitarian work. Doc kept the franchise stable as they were going through a scandal that nearly saw them lose in the first round.
All four of them have yet to be ejected this season. Paul and Griffin have done it before (Game 6 vs. Grizzlies in 2013 NBA Playoffs and 2013 Christmas Day vs. Warriors). Doc has done it both as a player and a Celtics coach. DeAndre has never been.
Imagine if any or all four were thrown out of a game for two techs or a flagrant foul. The world would crucify the Clippers and everyone who worked there. Paul, Griffin, Jordan and Doc would be hammered endlessly by the media, even get complaints from their own fans. Remember when the Lakers got swept by the Mavericks in 2011? Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum were ejected for flagrant fouls, the latter of which left a bitter taste in the mouths of the Buss family. The actions of two players angered former Lakers share holder Magic Johnson deeply, and demanded that changes be taken. That's what the Clippers are afraid of: get ejected, get killed by public opinion.
By coming into the league, they've basically agreed to accept any and all criticism, regardless of validity. Even when they started winning as far back as the 2011-12 lockout season, their reputation as a losing team is still intact. The truth of the matter is, they've always been hated, even before the Chris Paul veto, because the evil Donald Sterling was calling the shots. But as long as they play well, win games, and take care of business, they won't have to hear from negative Nancy's all the time.
Unfortunately, a 3-game losing streak and criticism of the referees have forced the gloves to come off. From now until the playoffs, this will be the most difficult stretch the Clippers will have ever played. They could be in danger of missing the playoffs.

This thread is
I don't think we're as fun this year as the past few, but that's cool cause the past few we've been one of the most exciting teams of all time. It's a tough regular season for us but all we need is a ten game winning streak and all of a sudden we're Lob City again.

I misspoke, less frustrating, more likable.
