this is really bad. dunno where to even start. i'd love to find some silver linings but doc torpedoed just about all our young talent so getting a young guy some burn is pretty much out of the question.

We'll just have to weather the storm until Blake gets back. Staph infections are serious so I want him to come back when he's 100%.

Well, Spencer, it's time to start playing some real ball.

My grandmother died of a staph infection, so I know how serious they can be. But hopefully the team bonds over this.

i think we are over reacting.

blake, as great of a season he's had as a play maker, he has been a redundancy which forced CP3 to be a scorer when he is not.

I look forward to Spencer's wider range of shooting skills and distance although he sacrifice in athleticism and explosiveness around the rim. we will lose blake's passes but now CP3 will have the ball in his hand more. Hawes will definitely give more rebounds per minute now in the starting lineup.

this will rejuvenate Spencer's game for the rest of the season. Blake may come back stronger, well rested. the team will figure out how to play more conservative and better team defense.

more than anything, I look forward to DJ's level to go up another level without his superstar buddy to refer to.

No you're saying "now he'll have the ball in his hands more since Blake is out" but in reality he always has the ball in his hands for extended time of every possession no matter who's playing or not playing. I've always been against his constant over dribbling. I don't want to see it increase no matter the circumstance

but it also drives me nuts to see Blake post 22 - 9 - 5 - 6 stat line. that is 22 points, 9 assists, 5 rebounds and 6 TOs. I want my star PF to rebound more and stop turning the ball over so damn often.

when blake returns, I want him to use his long rest to recharge his batteries and go do some damages on the board. I know how we have a designed system that abandons offensive rebound and how he shoots from further away, but there is no excuse for lack of defensive boards.

The problem I have here is that this team doesn't have defenders off the bench where they could bring in bench guys and win games because they can defend and depend on Paul's individual ability to win games.

This team wins games through offense. With not just Blake, but also Redick out, we're hoping to be able to consistently produce enough offense to win games, and that's going to be interesting.

good point. compared to the yesteryear guys like Magic or Stockton, CP3 may actually have the ball much less in his hands.

another concern of mine, blake's defensive rebounding rate dropping from his rookie year of what, 26%+ to this year's 18%... is there any other explanation for this other than this young man just does not seem to have the same energy or grit to fight for the ball? offensive board i get it. but that too dropped every each year not just under doc but under VDN as well.
