Melo should go to the Clippers

Post#1 » by High level » Wed Feb 18, 2015 12:56 am

Melo should go to the clippers I think the clippers could really use a small forward like Carmelo who could flat out score and fill the gapping hole at small forward position. It would be nice to see Memo with a real pure point guard and a young front court

1. Our problem is defense not offense
2. Our SF needs to be able to knock down 3's not crowd the basket alongside Blake and DJ
3. The only way to get Melo would be to give up Griffin or Paul so we would still be a big 2.

Sure I would love to have Melo on our team if he was free but giving up anything for him would make us worse.

What about Terrence Ross from Raptors I think he would upgrade the clippers because he is a capable defender and he can knock down the three

Melo come to the Clippers to play with CP AND a young front court?

If BG DJ and CP are all staying, who is being traded to make salary work?

I'd do CP3 for Melo in a heartbeat if the numbers would work. We just need a Darren Collison type at PG

If the Raptors were to bite for Crawford/Hawes, yeh, sure! I don't think they will tho

Ross is still really young and has a lot of upside which means if he doesn't turn out as good as we predict, we will have overpaid for him. His length and athleticism would be great for us.

Even if he is what he is now for the rest of his career, a good but streaky 3PT shooter with inconsistent but decent overall defense, he'd automatically be our 4th best player for years to come. I don't see the downside, other than we don't have the assets to get it done.

Crawford+Hawes+Wilcox for Ross+Fields+Psycho T would be a great trade for us, more than any of the Nuggets guys imo.

Not a Darren Collison-type. Melo's only run to the conference finals featured Chauncey Billups. They need to go after somebody like him. Clips would have to trade for Damian Lillard, for example. But I'd prefer the Paul-Melo tandem. But the team loves Griffin and Jordan too much, which makes any trade for Melo without giving up the core a pipe dream at best.

What I'm saying is, something has to give. You can't expect everything to be handed to you on a silver platter. That's Lakers mentality. Who would you be willing to give up to match salaries? This isn't five players for Kevin Garnett we're talking here.

why are you guys replying to this troll's thread? do you guys not remember this juvenile getting temp banned twice already for trolling the game threads?

and we have been through at least 3 Melo threads in last 2 years. this is a forgone conclusion. let the loser rot in NYC.

for those of you guys actually wanting Melo, wow. another chucker with no effort on defense, we would have to score 120 to win since we will give up 115 every night between Melo, Jamal, and Blake.

then why hasn't Melo been able to win if all he needs is a Collison level of a PG? he's had Billups, AI, Andre Miller already in his career. and this is with teams that were stacked. with Ratfacedpunk Miller, he's had prime Kenyon Martin and Marcus Camby playing defense, Voshon Lenard and Wesley Person spacing the floor in catch and shoot game, and still didn't win anything. Melo once had a team of guard rotation including Billups, Iverson, and JR along with bigs named Nene, Kenyon, the Birdman, Balkman, and Petro.

and you guys think Melo can win it for us in LA without CP?
ehhhhh f it.
