Been wanting him since the offseason

Jordan Hamilton was a fallback option. If the Clippers had been eying him since the off-season, I wonder if last night's loss to the Grizzlies prompted Doc to finally get him.

I always get them confused, is this the stiff white guy that used to play for Miami as a sort of poor-man-Hawes or the streaky rebounding guard that used to play for Denver? I'm guessing the guard since that's what was rumored we were looking into. Meh.

No, Jordan Hamilton is a shooting guard/small forward hybrid.

You are thinking of Justin Hamilton. He got traded to the Pelicans

My family and his family know each other. I wont comment on how in case one of his family members reads this.

that said, I don't like him….and I haven't liked him since he was at Texas.
So he's really rubbed me the wrong way with how he plays.

Well let's see what he can do for us. It's only a to day contract and good to see us sign a younger player at least.

This could be a good signing...

-Really I'm just happy he got a guy that's taller than 6'3" and under 30 years of age

Finally, a signing I'm actually happy with as long as he gets to play. More of this and less of the no-upside, washed-up vets, please.

I know nothing of this guy. I remember him playing at Texas (I think) and that's it. Hope he helps.

Anyone know what his defense is like?

I hope we go back to a move conventional lineup and less minutes for guards at the SF position.

Well he's not old and he isn't a guard, so that is something.

He's an okay player, he can shoot, his corner three is good, his defense is so-so, but he doesn't seem like a guy who doesn't care about defense. Maybe he can get himself to stick on the team, we'll see.

Highlight vid looks good. Hopefully Doc gives him some run.

Questionable Commitment

On the surface, Jordan Hamilton looks like what we need. He's a wing player with decent length who has extended range from beyond the arc and even rebounds well. However, I have concerns about his commitment for individual improvement as well as possibly playing a team game. Let's not forget that Doc wanted to sign him earlier but went with Dahntay Jones instead at the last minute due to Hamilton not being in shape. He was told to improve his conditioning, so I guess he has since the Clips signed him.

While not exactly the same, he seems to exhibit some of the same issues I had with Jordan Farmar. It's only a 10-day contract, so there's minimal risk but if he can get with the program, he'd provide the team with a lot of what it's missing. He strikes me as a guy who coasts on his talent rather than as someone who is constantly striving to improve his game. Maybe if Blake were healthy and with CP3's guidance, Hamilton will change his ways, but he seems content with biding his time in the NBDL in expecting that it's only a matter of time before he sticks with an NBA team down the line. That type of approach will be his undoing in the years ahead before he realizes it's too late.

Then again, I don't know much about him, but that is my impression from what I've been exposed to so far.

You're mixing up your players. It was Darius Miller Doc wanted to sign earlier, not Jordan Hamilton.

You're right. My bad. This obviously changes my opinion a little given the conditioning component of my previous concerns, however, I still have concerns based on the recent videos I've seen of him as well as scouting reports I've read (Hamilton's, not Miller's).
