What is Barnes doing talking trash to Harden's mom? Harden tends to play relatively poorly against the Clippers. No need to give him extra motivation.

In terms of the scheduling, why was this done? The league had to know that CP3 was in bad shape. Not talking conspiracy theories here, but all the other series get more than 1 day off, but that doesn't happen in this series unless there is a game 7.

Doc Rivers over McHale. To me, that's the big difference. The Clippers win this series 4-2. The only chance that the Rocks have is if CP3 can't roll. I'm cheering for you guys.

We have to go 2-0 at home with or without Paul.

Rumor is that Harden's mom dissed Barnes' dead mother so I guess he had to go there.

Whats Harden going to do, drive down the lane and flop harder? Take deeper step back 3 pointers? Its playoff basketball. F' her if she wants to be in on the action.

Paul'll start, if he can't keep it going, he'll play a dozen or so minutes max.

10 - Spencer Hawes

 Hopefully, there'll be a resurrection of sorts for Spencer Hawes during his time with the Clippers. He's not a worse option than Hedo. If he's injured, he shouldn't be on the active roster.

Pushing the Panic Button

I don't approve of Chris Paul playing tonight given how susceptible the hamstring is to being re-injured and worsening. Hasn't Doc learned anything from his handling of the Jared Dudley fiasco? If CP3 goes down or struggles, I'm going to blame old man Rivers and his teammates for putting him in this position. I agree with nickhx2 and others who have said that the Clippers have what it takes to win without Paul, so I'm disappointed with them panicking tonight at the possible expense of making a bigger impact when we'll need him later on.

Do we really need to endanger Chris's health just because Doc can't refrain himself from playing his son and Crawful too much? Or because his teammates can't apply what they experienced in the Spurs series to the more vulnerable Rockets? In any case, go Chris Paul! And go Clippers!

i've never really browsed the trade threads here on realgm but there is one thread over there that has hawes going to dallas for some combination of devin harris/dajuan blair/someone else.

i'd LOVE that and honestly am not sure how we could even get any trades of similar value given how awful hawes has been this year and given his contract.

of course i think a lot of people have some very flawed player values over there so who really knows.

Square Pegs on Sale

I'm not a fan of selling low on Spencer Hawes just because Doc doesn't know how to use him. Tip: Start by playing him like a center and not a stretch 4. Spencer is a post player who can shoot. He's also a good passer and can play some defense in serving as an impediment as a big body. Forcing him to be a spot-up shooter with his slow release and foot speed limits his overall game and has obviously affected his production.

Having said that, if Doc continues to mis-manage him, then he's only further devaluing him as a trade asset and wasting a roster spot. Why can't he be a little flexible in showing some adaptability in using such a player instead of relying on isolation basketball from the likes of Crawful and Junior. Seriously, what kind of coaching is this?! Pounding a square peg into a round hole ain't getting us anywhere.

Yup.

for CP-less clips to bully around the Rockets in Houston for the first two games, coming up with one decisive win and a dominating performance for most of the game #2, threatening to upset with less than a minute to go, I don't think we are about to lose the series in LA because CP is still out.

having said that, with a hammy, as delicate as it is, they don't heal over a week or two anyway. the risk of re-injurying or worsening is gonna be there all the way through the finals. so what the heck, at least this move will keep Austin away from the starting line up tonight and hopefully Lester gets more playing time than baby Doc.

I have been saying the same for awhile now, that Hawes is a low post playing center who happens to be able to shoot from the distance a little, he isn't a poorman's Dirk. If anything, he should be used the way Bill Laimbeer was used for the badboys. the combat Bill's 3s came as a dagger after beating people up inside first to get him in groove offensively.
