Why not Amare?

He is of course a shell of himself but still can score especially paired with Chris Paul. I think would be a great pickup for the vet min

Amare wants to start according to him, and the Clippers want some semblance of defense from their frontcourt

Well.. he isnt starting material anymore. I was thinking he couldve been helpful off the bench for some offense. Yes, his defense is pretty pathetic

If DJ bolts I think the only real option to replace some of what he gave the Clippers is Javelle McGee. McGee might just be desperate enough to play for the vet minimum too- nobody seems to be giving him any attention. If not McGee, then maybe see if Bynum or Larry Sanders have any interest in playing still. Amare would be okay perhaps at 15 minutes a game off the bench

Timothy Mozgov is still a free agent as well

Amare already said he would only be interested in starting next to Blake, which would mean DJ goes to Dallas

Mozgov is staying in Cleveland

I would look at Amare as a last resort. He isn't even a center, so I would see what other options are out there 1st

Yea, we're not delusional, and Mozgov will make a lot more than what the Clippers can offer

I'd be ok with Amar'e off the bench but not as a starting C.

I'm fine with Stoudemire off the bench as well. I just don't think he envisions himself as a role player and his projected production is not worth the headache when he inevitably gets frustrated. He's not exactly a player that wins you championships either.

Rivers also is expected to speak with free agent Amar'e Stoudemire on Sunday, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Stoudemire strongly considered the Clippers before signing with the Dallas Mavericks after the New York Knicks agreed to a buyout of his contract in February. Stoudemire has interest with several teams, including the Clippers, Mavericks and Indiana Pacers, league sources said.

Well I guess Amare is a real option now. I really don't like the idea of him starting at center.

If Amare is playing center, the Clippers defense is going to really suck. He is a great player off the bench to provide offense but his defense and rebounding are bad. It would have been a great move if Clippers could have gotten Hibbert.
