That would be great, but I don't think Palmer is a great source. I think he was the guy that Durant had a run in with a while back

If you ask me, him coming here is irrelevant. We still need to get younger…draft better and develop players. Doc needs to realize we aren't going to sign our way to a championship.
CP will be 31
Griffin will be 27.
So will Durant
Their next deals are going to be the best years of their career (and the end of CPs).
If this team keeps sacrificing assets to acquire bull we'll have the same problem with the better big 3.
Doc's 2019 Clippers:
CP/ Dog **** son
Dog ****/ Jamal Crawford on a making $15 million a year
Durant/ Hedo Turkoglu
Griffin/ Big Baby
Dog ****/ Dog ****.
still a 2nd round exit.
edit: everything on that list that's not CP, Griffin and Durant is still dog ****.

Samer Kalaf, Deadspin (2/5/15)The Oklahoma City Thunder gave forward Nick Collison a two-year extension today, and NBA reporter Chris Palmer criticized the contract and the team. So, Kevin Durant called him a dumbass.

Not quite at Skip levels, but he has been known to speak his mind and go against the grain. Call it trolling, attention whoring or his real beliefs, but whatever you call it, it stirs the pot.

To be fair he also said KD is the 2nd best player on the planet, but these are all just subjective lists that mean nothing.

In fairness, Durant has an almost Jamal-like tendency to get all butthurt on Twitter. Remember when he talked trash about Kawhi's Finals MVP?

I still don't think Durant is coming here.

Great post this topic is dead. We are going to be used a leverage all season we can't get hopes up this high.

lol Chris Palmer
Reporters are gonna fish for clicks cause they know every Clipper fan is hoping for something like that. That has no legs at this point in the season, and it doesn't really make sense for Durant (I wouldn't come if I was him tbh).

It's no secret that we will have cap space to sign a max free agent, so people will start stating the obvious, but try and twist it as fact. Where exactly would Palmer have found out that Durant has an interest?
No one should be getting their hopes up, it will just lead to trying to find someone to blame (likely Doc or for some CP) if Durant who might not have really been interested in coming here doesn't come.

A trio of Durant/Griffin/Paul would be formidable. Hope we can reel the big fish in this time next summer.

hate this trade stuff. why trade blake for kd when we could just trade dj for picks/cheap rotation players and sign KD outright anyway
Durant is the Priority

I agree that I'd rather exchange DJ somehow in order to get Kevin Durant rather than do that with Griffin, but I find myself more open to swapping Griffin for Durant if that was the only way. A threesome of Chris Paul, J.J. Redick, and Kevin Durant to go along with either Blake Griffin or DeAndre Jordan is such a dynamic fit in terms of scheme and a nightmare for opponents to defend against.

This is true, there are a lot of teams that will have cap space, so the Clippers can definitely find someone to trade DJ to if Durant and them develop actual mutual interest.

yeah if it was the only way you do it. but the media narrative is the uneducated one, which ends up being the annoying one, which will end up being the super annoying one when we have to drudge through a summer of blake for durant rumors.

Yeah, even if they pick DJ over Griffin, why would they trade him for Durant and be left with no assets, if they can trade him to any other team for capspace + high picks (or a PF on a rookie contract) and then get Durant for free as a FA. Seriously, I cannot respect any reporter that has such little understanding of how the CBA works.
Anyways, doubt Durant is coming here of all places.

Will we actually have that space? I remember looking at the salaries before the season, I'm no cap/CBA expert but I didn't think we were quite there. If we are close, then it would seem to be a no-brainer to pursue Durant as long as we didn't have to get rid of one of the big 3 players to clear cap room. Maybe the situation has changed after trades and we have more expirings...
I'd probably move anyone else on the team if it could create space to sign Durant (if we hypothetically knew he wanted to come here.)

The thread start date is making things a little confusing. I believe at that time we had not signed DJ and he was going to Dallas.
