Clippers Sign Pablo Prigioni

I'd rather have Kendall Marshall but I guess we could do worse. Plus, Prigioni would be a legit 3rd-string PG while Marshall would have been a better option as a 2nd-string PG over Austin Rivers.

is he even going to get minutes?

What an odd collection of teammates we have here.
all ages, attitudes and walks of life. should be a fun season.

38 and terrible. anything more than 3rd stringer and we are in for some trouble.

Could be a big pick up later in the season if CP goes down, I trust him running the point over Austin

At 38, he's not going to be a lock-down defender and I highly doubt that he ever was one to begin with. However, he has proven adept at getting into the passing lanes to rack up steals including against us in the past playoff series against Houston.

Prigioni is a really good signing.

He does the dirty work, can defend some, passes first and second, can make the 3 ball if we need him to and he isnt going to complain about PT off the bench. He is basically an emergency option and fallback PG if things dont work with Rivers or Lance.

he knows he's being ejected in favor of guys like josh smith and prigioni, the same guys who did us in

Third PG to play spot minutes in case of injury, no issues there

I really like the signing, but it's kinda true, it's happened way too many times to be a coincidence now. Doc is just simple enough that he loves signing the guys who happened to play well against him

Dan Woike, Orange County Register (7/22/15)
The deal will be for the league minimum, with the agreement first reported by RealGM's Shams Charania.
...

Prigioni, along with new Clipper Josh Smith, helped Houston come back from a 3-1 deficit in the second round of the playoffs to eliminate Doc Rivers’ team in stunning fashion.

Prigioni, a 38-year-old Argenitne[sic], has spent the last three seasons in the NBA, playing for the Knicks before being dealt to Houston midway through last season. His first season in the NBA, Prigioni played under current Clipper assistant Mike Woodson in New York.

thats true, but people will spin this to the clippers stealing the rockets players, trying to be like them, still not good enough to beat them etc etc. Any way to twist a signing of a vet minimum end of the bench guy into clipper hate will happen lol

Would've preferred Wolters as an upside pick, but its hard to argue against a vet like Prigs with the playoffs in mind.

All 15 roster spots are officially taken now. Without any legit backup big men apart from Aldrich, its not looking good for Jamal. Did he say something emo again?

Jamal just plays mind games.

Personally I kind of want to see if he works with these guys, I like him, he's a bit dramatic and unprofessional on social media but the guys got a rare humble and honest personality.
