Re: Around the NBA II
Even if MPJ never plays another minute in the NBA, the skeptics are still wrong. Drafting Jerome was still a colossal blunder by our front office. If nothing else, we could have sent MPJ in the PG trade and kept Shai. Plus Jerome was a terrible player regardless of who else was still on the board at the time. Don't forget that we also drafted him over Donte DiVincenzo, Kevin Huerter, Grayson Allen, Jalen Brunson, and a number of other players who - while not having MPJ's theoretical ceiling - are still useful in the NBA (unlike Jerome).

Doc managed to lose to the Timberwolves with Embiid playing, KAT fouled out, and the refs giving them every call. The Sixers are now 10-10, barely above the cut line for the play-ins if the season ended today.

Klay Thompson returns today. One doesn't have to like the Warriors, but I can definitely appreciate getting talent like that back on the court and healthy.

Clippers win, Wizards fight
Sources said Harrell became upset with Caldwell-Pope for not passing him the basketball on a play before the first half concluded, and the two started jawing during the walk to the locker room. As the two exchanged words, Harrell and Caldwell-Pope took swings toward each other — with neither connecting — and became entangled before teammates separated them, sources said.

Well, glad the Clippers are fighting for wins and not fighting each other

On the Jalen and Jacoby podcast, Jalen Rose said Trez was grieving the death of his mother. Not sure what time frame that was but he suggested it affected his play and availability.

Hawks didn't want to pay Reddish.
So many young wings on that team but they didn't expect to struggle like they have.

"I stay on big guys because I care about them. I want them to play a certain way, I want them to play at a certain level. The difference between [Embiid] and his soft partner [Simmons] is, he can take criticism without being a crybaby and he still wants to play.
"Me and Charles, we've been on [Embiid] and we stay on him. We told him to his face what he needs to do. He didn't cry, he didn't say 'I want to get traded', he didn't complain about mistreatment. And that's the difference. That's why I like and respect him. The other guy, I don't respect him.
"I've been thinking about it - you're missing a whole season because they asked your coach a question, 'Can we win without you?', and your coach gave a funny answer? That should tell you, you need to get in the summer time and go work on your game."

Yea, I have to agree with Shaq. I simply can't get on the supporting Ben Simmons wagon that some people are on, I've fought through enough adversity in life, FAR more than a coach giving an answer that hurt my feelings to be able to support his childishness. Some people need a reality check, but if he can live a cushy multi-millionaire life while getting paid to do nothing, he doesn't care.
Situations like Simmons must make the NBA feel less confident in their guaranteed salary system.

I'm from Philly and can speak for Philly. We'd rather let Ben sit out ANOTHER year than take what we can get and make a chump out of us. It's how we roll.

Philly either gets decent compensation or, yeah, they will and should let him sit. Side note: if this does go into next season, I'll bet money the Sixers will ask the league for an injury exception--and the league will give it to them. Somehow, Simmons thinks other franchises and the league are okay with wanting a trade one year into a five year max deal. Yeah, that's big, hard no, Ben.

Have my cake and eat it too. Harden wants the foul calls, but doesn't want them called on him

Re: Around the NBA II
This Levert deal again shows why our Powell&RoCo trade grade A+ and makes our FO look like bandits. Sheeeesh.
We'll know soon if this Ro&co addition makes Morris tradable now? We would probably keep him less than $16 million per year for possible extension.
