LOL 1 game is going to separate 9 teams at season's end, and tiebreakers will determine seeds 4 through 10.

unfortunate that Denver rested Jokic tonight. Could have used another Pelicans loss

I thought Doc was supposed to be some master of ego management and handling a locker room? Also, he was the GM who assembled the roster that didn't get along and "was never going to win." Do the excuses ever end with this guy?

Doc already practicing his exit interview after another second round flame out where a couple of future HoF players let him down?

i would be careful. the mere mention of doc will incite screeches from those who deem him clipper-irrelevant on this forum: despite his inability to keep this team's name out of his god damn mouth years later.

This off-topic thread is the appropriate place for Doc Derangement Syndrome victims to keep on venting YEARS LATER after he was fired.
Not on EVERY FCKG GAME THREAD.
And yes, I think he might take the fall in Philly, just as he took the fall here.
There will be no full-throated defense of Rivers here. He was bad, just as Kawhi Leonard (career-low 32.9% from three this postseason) was bad, just as Paul George (39.8% from the floor) was bad, just as Montrezl Harrell (a fourth quarter liability defensively) was bad. But you can’t fire the players, so Rivers, it seems, had to go.
The Clippers were rolling when the pandemic hit. They had won eight of the last nine, beating Denver, Oklahoma City and Houston along the way. They looked like real contenders.
Every team dealt with adversity in the bubble. The Clippers, though, battled through a lot of it. There was the late arrivals of Montrezl Harrell, Landry Shamet and Ivica Zubac. The was L'affaire Lou Williams. There was an injury to Patrick Beverley that kept him out for most of the first round. Would the outcome have been any different if the season continued? Who knows.
But there were plenty of reasons to give Rivers a chance to run it back.

I follow the Sixers, and IMO the problem is the roster, not the coach. Doc has Embiid playing the best ball of his career, Harden is more efficient and team-minded than he's been for years, and 22-year-old Tyrese Maxey is a near All-Star.
Unfortunately, after that, there isn't very much. Tobias Harris remains an enigma, and I doubt the rest of their rotation would even sniff the court here for the Clippers. Yet Doc won 54 games with them and that Sixers team would have a very good shot at winning the Western Conference--but unfortunately they're only the third-best team in the East.
So yeah, I agree there's a very good chance he'll take the blame if/when the Sixers get eliminated in the second round by the Celtics, last year's ECF winner. Enjoy.

People get too hung up on defining athleticism in basketball by explosiveness and like jumping ability, and they neglect to acknowledge how great of an athlete Steph is. Amazing stamina, solid length as a 6'3 guy, great hand eye coordination of course, and strong base and lower body.

Sabonis sold the hell out of the that. He didn't stomp him. Didn't even put weight on the foot. I've seen WWE Stomps that were worse lol. Dray intentionally did that of course but he didn't put weight on sabonis. Sabonis acted like there was an active shooter in the building, like he got sniped. lol please.

Re: Around the NBA II
I think people are overreacting thinking that Sabonis intentionally grabbed Draymond's ankle and Draymong intentionally stomped on Sabonis.
If you watch it in real time, this is a bang/bang play. If you slow the film down, you can see that Sabonis is falling backwards and doesn't know Green is there. As Sabonis falls, he turns and there is a leg that looks like it is going to hit his head, so he moves his arms to protect his head (split second reaction) as his body's momentum is still turning him into the player behind him. As he brings his arms up to protect his head, he is still falling backwards and Draymond's ankle is in between Sabonis's arms. Green at the same time is starting to run down court, so his momentum is going up while Sabonis is going down. Because Green is heading downcourt, it pulls Sabonis's arms up which make it look like he is pulling on Draymond's ankle. Sabonis didn't have time to release open his arms from protecting his head. Draymond in a normal reaction is trying to get his leg loose.
Just watch the real time and then slow it down to the micro-second and see everything that happens from 07 seconds to 09 seconds. TV can slow everything down which makes it look intentional, but when you watch in real time, everything happens super fast.

Doc is the guy that gave those two non-defenders heavy minutes in the playoffs.
If I could only find that one common factor that impacted the 2015 post season and the 2016 - 2017 seasons that might have created issues in the locker room. hmmmm...

Re: Around the NBA II
Memphis is just not a smart team. They had a clear break away with under 10 seconds remaining, the game tied and numbers. Rather than taking that advantage and running some extra seconds off the clock, they put in the quick dunk leaving 6.7 seconds left on the clock with a 2 pt lead. Told my son at the time Griz were leaving too much time (plus a 3 still beats you). Pulling it out is risky, but you still don't want time remaining in regulation because the Lakers still had a time out. LeBron drives and ties the game with little time left and then Lakers win in OT.
In regulation they still had .8 remaining and decide a jump shot rather than something near the rim was their best option. Ja had an open lane if Brooks just threw it up.
I expect them to work over the Lakers in Game 5 and then we will see what happens in Game 6.
