I was recently on youtube watching some eric gordon highlights and..MY GOD, he had some beautiful game. He looked like mvp rose but finishing with explosive dunks instead of layups. There are only a few videos of him but all of them "Wowed" me.

Short answer?

Longer answer...

Eric Gordon + Chris Kaman + Al-Farouq Aminu + Minnesota 1st (Austin Rivers) = Chris Paul

Not all, but many Clipper fans really liked EJ (Eric Gordon) and were initially upset that he had to be included in the deal to get CP3. He wanted to be maxed out. Blake Griffin was obviously going to get a max extension asap (summer 2012). DeAndre Jordan was up for a new contract and would see a hefty pay raise (~$1M/yr to ~$11M/yr). If you have to choose one of the two to pay max money, you're going to get more bang for buck by choosing CP3 as opposed to Gordon.

Is there a possibility that Eric Bledsoe could have been included in the trade as opposed to Eric Gordon? Maybe, but you still have to consider that Sterling owned the team at the time. CP3's max was around $18-19M/yr, Blake's would be around $17-18M/yr, Gordon around $16M/yr and in addition to paying Jordan. 4 players would be getting around $64m+ per season.

Then there's the injury issues that he had.

Maybe its just me but I would of rode with the guys I drafted. That was a lot to give up for Cp3 too

Gordon + Bledsoe + Jordan + Griffin

That team would not have been an instant playoff team but give it a few years to ripen + all the picks and then you got beastly team
