CP3 is named an all-star for the 9th straight season. He will tie Blake Griffin for most all-star appearances in franchise history with 5.

If I'm honest, I was hoping for him to be snubbed, both so he could save some mileage and rest, and because I just love pissed Paul with a chip on his shoulder. But for whatever reason, allstars seem important to him, so I'm glad for him.

well even though allstar appearances shouldn't really determine anything in judging a player's career (due to the fan vote and even the coaches having precarious decision making) it I still see it as impressive for when a player totals a high number of them. Looking at Kareem's 19 appearances, Lebron is already at 12, Garnett at 15, etc... it still impresses me. Shows longevity and you have to be playing at somewhat high level, unless the voting is misconstrued like Yao or to a degree Kobe.
CP is no idiot, likely realizes (especially with Griffin's recent events) that a championship in his prime (next 3-4 years if we're being optimistic) is very slim, maybe a 10% chance if everything goes perfect? So no championship no FMVP, closest thing to an MVP he was arguably snubbed of... leaves you with All-NBA First Team selections and All-star nods. And given Curry and Westbrook coming out, it's going to be difficult to tally those First Team selections from here on out. So I can't really fault him if he's vying to be an All-Star... even just for the fact that it's probably a fun weekend to be a part of

i put negative value on being an all-star, but blake did it to himself regardless lol. not sure he even makes it anyway since he was out so long with the quad injury.
