Game 49: Los Angeles (32-16) vs Minnesota (14-36)

Doc Rivers wishes everyone would focus on how well the Los Angeles Clippers are playing rather than the saga involving Blake Griffin, and he might get his wish now that the league is on the verge of announcing a potential punishment.

It's tough to ignore the Clippers' stingy defense during their winning streak no matter the situation.

Los Angeles can extend its run to five by beating Minnesota for the 15th consecutive time in the Timberwolves second straight game at Staples Center on Wednesday night.

There's a new rumor that the Clips are interested in Adreian Payne, so we'll likely get a look at him tonight in limited minutes.

watching the twolves play is like watching any random young clipper team of years past. some talented guys and athletic moves but mostly a lot of WTF stuff in between.

Austin Rivers Ejected

Junior Rivers' mouth gets him double technical fouls for the ejection. To be fair, the 1st tech was justified for the non-call of that hoop-and-harm, but his ego and sense of entitlement gets him an early shower tonight. You're not Chris Paul or Blake Griffin, coach's son, so you're not going to get the same leeway, if any.

Ejection was quite lame

Clippers reclaim the top spot in player ejections (Griffin 2, Jordan 1, Austin 1). They were tied with the Milwaukee Bucks before Austin's ejection.

Questionable Truth

For a highly respected veteran, Pierce is making some questionable decisions during game play.

Lance and Johnson need to be ahead of Pierce on the depth chart, he's just not getting it done

If you look at the replay, the ref moved on and so did Austin until he turned around while walking away to flap his gums some more for the 2nd tech. I gave him the benefit of the doubt for the 1st technical, but dude showed up the ref with his demonstrative protest. I'd prefer that the 1st one was not called, but there was justification for the ref to T him up for that display. The Clippers are already notorious for their whining. The zebras are already fed up with complaints from CP, BG, or Doc. What makes Austin think that he can get away with his behavior? The ESPN telecast indicated that Doc didn't seem happy with his son either.

Supposedly, Austin threw a derogatory term at the referee. This is a tweet I found from a fan:

Who cares what they're notorious for?
That's like saying, Quake, you know a wyt woman is gonna be scared of you in an elevator, so stand there like a statue so she isn't uncomfortable.

These refs shouldn't be having their ideas deciding games so the fact that we're notorious for ANYTHING should never even be on the table.

When I want our team to stop whining…it's to STFU and focus on basketball.
Not to worry about the stupid **** refs who should be knowing their role and shutting their mouths anyway.
