maybe in time I will get used to it, or even get to like it... but in all honesty, Akklaim1 will have to excuse me because right now, I think it is the love child between Donald Trump and Justin Bieber.

it's kind of embarrassing and bad, maybe embarrassingly bad. but meh, i got over it in the first 10 seconds lol. only other option is to be angry and hateful at a mascot, of all things.

I was embarrassed. I have never felt this ashamed for the Clippers since Neddy called me a Laker fan when I was just starting to get my feet wet in RealGM. That's really how embarrassing this was for me. Already the internet has opened with a ton of Chuck jokes. I took it a step further: he's just helped inch the Clippers closer to Oddity Archive territory.

I was at the game tonight. When Ballmer announced something along the lines of "we added one more piece to our team before the trade deadline" my gut sank and for good reason lol

This rejected cereal box bird drops fr the rafters. Only good parts of it were the free Chucks and seeing Ballmer dunk lol that was pretty funny (his face)

lol I love it tbh, I dont know what it is with mascots that people always hate them at first no matter what they look like. Happened to the Brooklyn Knight when they tried an "adult" approach, happened to Pierre the Pelican over at New Orleans, to Franklin the dog in Philly... I dont get what people expect from mascots, they're silly furry things that entertain the little ones and do silly stuff. Chuck works alright for me.

Same here. I couldn't give a crap about mascots, to be honest. Definitely never saw one and went "man, that looks so damn cool, sure wish we had one just like it".

My only real criticism of Chuck (btw, this is my nickname for Jamal from now on) is that it doesn't have anything to do with our name. Although that was to be expected, after the whole rebranding it became pretty obvious that there was no interest in any sort of nautical elements. So they just went for something plain and harmless, just like the logo.


Gotta give huge props to Balmer for that dunk. First, he doesn't look like the most athletic guy in the world, and second, putting himself out there like that took some balls, you could just see all the clips/vines/gifs/memes if he missed it.

I'm fine with certain mascots--the Phoenix Gorilla, the old Sasquatch-looking mascot the Sonics had before they left Seattle, the Phillie Phanatic, Mr. Met, and so on, but this thing is just aesthetically hideous. Just like with the new identity and the current radio situation ("Catch your Clippers on Punjabi Radio 980!"), the Clippers (may I say specifically Ballmer and Gillian) botched this one too.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is now official...this is Steve Ballmer's Los Angeles Clippers.

Well, that sounds a hell of a lot better than Donald Sterling's Los Angeles Clippers.

I agree, it's a mascot so I'm not really going to complain much. Seems like children will like it and it's got a cute factor to it.

Believe me, I'm not clamoring for the bad ol' days of the Four Stooges--Donnie, Andy, Elgie, and Lil' Mikey, but with the way the Skipper, Gilligan, and Doc are running things nowadays, they have build-up my confidence in them, as a fan of this team.

ya i'd like a cool, sleek and dangerous looking mascot but in the end this kind of stuff is to appeal to the kids. nbd even though the overall idea of adding one feels a little cringey.

Was at the game last night. I like the mascot honestly. The mascot is supposed to be some fun weird guy anyways. The Suns have a gorilla. Why can't we have Chuck?

some teams have it easier than others for the mascot... raptors, bulls, hornets.

Maybe the mascot, logo, colours, etc should be taken into account when naming a franchise but that's a whole different argument
