Well-deserved honor for Ralphie boy!

Almost sacrilege to say in LA but always thought Lawler was better than Chick Hearn.

I'm actually surprised it hadn't happened earlier. I really expect him to get inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame in the next ten years. Chick Hearn is in, why not Ralph?

I hope a lot sooner...the Basketball Hall of Fame has the Curt Gowdy Media Award, which is essentially their "media wing". I just browsed over the list of those award winners (they give out one each for print and electronic media)--Chick, Marv, Dick Stockton, Hubie, Costas, and a lot of other prominent names.

This year's electronic version of the award is going to Jay Bilas; David Aldridge is getting the print version; I have no problem with D.A. getting it, since he's already been of the one of the more credible NBA reporters in the last 20 years, but Bilas? Nothing against Bilas, but Ralph is LONG overdue for that award, especially when you look at the other recipients and compare their body of work to Ralph's.

The only thing that Ralph has working against him is that he's called games for our franchise for about 30 years. Maybe if our franchise had been winning from the beginning he'd already be in. He could have jumped ship years ago, but never did.
