if we have to pick only one between Richard and Cole, I think it's a no brainer. Cole all the way. would love to have them both tho. I just don't think that is possible in today's maddening NBA economics.

This is an acceptable contract with the salary cap. Wesley is what he is, an acceptable player. If that shot could be better and he could be a more disciplined defender, he could be very useful. He shot 42% from corner 3PT, the lesson is that he should not shoot above the break 3's because his total 33% 3PT suggests he was awful at them.

i'd seriously love if he replaced his above the break 3's with slashes, even if that makes him predictable. his efficiency would go up quite a bit and i think he'd give us a much more consistent option at SF.

Wesley is actually afraid of slashing, so I don't think that will happen, he should just pass the ball lol

I'm ok with this but it means Cole is gone, and I'd much rather keep him. I thought Cole not signing a contract yet meant he was waiting us out, but there's only $5M left for him now, and that's only i Pierce retires.

Hopefully Luc can be brought back with the BAE or the room exception.

Look at the other contracts out there and I say this was a GREAT deal. He never complained when he was coming off the bench, and besides being afraid of contact I really don't see a major weakness in what he tries to do (as long as he stays in the corner on the 3's as og said)

By my estimation we should have an 8M starting salary to offer Cole. That's with Pierce on the books.

Eric Pincus has our salaries already updated with Austin and Wes deals over at basketballinsiders.com, we are right at the cap if we keep Pierce and Dawson, or can open just over $4M if they're gone.

Wes' salary could be slotted into the MLE, but if Crawford leaves, we are under the cap and can't use the MLE, so he'd have to be signed with capspace.

That's why you sign Cole to the remaining cap space first. That puts us right at the cap, which would give us the ability to use the full MLE on Wes. Austin comes after that.

Yea, since the contracts aren't official yet, Austin's cap hold is $4M, and Johnson was a minimum guy, so we should be able to sign Cole with cap space if Jamal and Green's cap holds are out. There should still be decent space available to sign Cole or someone.

Hindsight is 20/20, but I really do wish we had that draft pick to use in a trade right now.
