Not the best first quarter for us, but it still feels like we should get this one. The bench seems pretty solid so far, Mo in particular is having a nice game.

Austin and jamal are fools gold. no defense what so ever. not even to hurry back or chase the play. will kill the later in the season.

Austin has been doing pretty well though, he's doing the two things offensively that he needs to do well now. Finish at the rim, hit 3PT shots. He still has some issues on defense here and there, but the guy is doing better with the added consistent 3PT shot.

austin's doing a bit better on defense yeah and his offense has really picked up, which is encouraging. overall the team's defense is pretty lacking compared to what we saw earlier in the season, so i'm hoping that can get sorted out at some point.

Yea, his fouls are probably his worst thing, he just commits these fouls that have no reason to be committed.

DJ's FT shooting has to be the most surprising thing this season. He's over 60% in his last 23 games. That was not really acceptable defense on Morris.

doc. austin is NOT a better defender than jj. holy crap.
seriously this team needs to get someone with a brain to teach not just the coach what a good defender is but also to teach the players how to not foul and/or put their FREAKING hands up vs a jump shooter.

Always switching, is that really a time to switch and take the chance?
Clippers can't get any stops, it's like the old days with VDN in terms of late game defense
Also good job Doc basically giving up two points, that really doesn't help the team win, you made it a 3 possession game instead of 2

lol you kidding me? game wasn't over but doc basically threw it by getting himself tossed.
maybe doc should be angrier at himself for coaching horribly down the stretch instead of yapping at the refs.

Why does Doc continue to get techs at the worse times getting kicked? It doesn't help the team at all and enforces the whining

Yea, Doc is dumb, how are you going to tell your players to be better with the refs when you do stupid things like this? Just calm down and don't make it a 3 possession game

i think part of it is doc thinks austin is a "good" enough of a defender that he can go against anyone. he can't, and that's part of some of the bigger issues this team has.

i mean, i don't know what to say. doc threw this game about as hard as you possibly could in the fourth.

It's not just Austin though, they make some bad switches all around, Austin most of the time at least looks like he's trying to fight through, but sometimes the big will force the guard to switch, but you have to consider that it's not just about whether you think you can guard the opposing guard, the guard has to be able to guard the big you switched him on to.
