Clippers Real Problem is Doc Rivers!!!

Post#1 » by general » Sun Jan 1, 2017 9:05 pm

We were solid a couple years ago but Doc is single handedly destroying this team by PLAYING his SON big minutes and then every summer he just try's to Experiment Anybody who's available like Josh smith, Lance Stevenson, Now Speights,Felton,Austin who all want to shoot the ball like there 20ppg scorers, Too many chiefs not enough Indians on this team and that singles out Crawford from his offense when you have role players trying to avg 18ppg smh. Doc has to tell certain guys there role right now it's a free for all guys are all trying to get there's not going to win like that, That's why it seems crawford doesnt Even wanna shoot the ball now, 4 shot attempts last game? He's like ok I'm gonna let you guys all shoot and I'm gonna just pass you guys the ball even though I'm the real scorer out of you all, Like come on your suppose to accommodate the 6th man of the year with pieces around him not take away shots from him. This team is doomed as long as Austin is playing big mins from his dad and doc is letting these guys have a free for all no one knows there roles

I don't think Doc is that good of a coach. He's average at best, IMO. He's a bad GM. A couple things I disagree with though.

Doc did a great job this offseason signing Speights and Felton. They are perfect backups for this team given the money available. They are why this bench is the best they've had in a long time. Felton is a legit PG who can run the point and guard his man. He is also dependable in situations where you need baskets with the clock running down. Speights will arguably be the most important bench player in the playoffs.

Austin is coming into his own and has become a good NBA player. He's probably the best player on the team at getting to the rim at will and beating his man off the dribble. CP3 is not as quick at the age of 31. He's become a great 3 point shooter on the season and is a solid man defender. Yeah, he's Doc's son and shouldn't be playing SF/PF for the whole game but that's not his fault.

Taking shots away from Jamal Crawford is a good thing. He's streaky and barely shoots 40% for his career. He's good at taking tough shots but they're still tough shots. I would rather have them pass the ball around and get a good shot than depend on him to score every game. Deferring to Crawford is not going to get you anywhere in the playoffs when it actually matters, as we've all witnessed.
