Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Well, I guess it's better than him just straight up going to the D-League money wise if they call him up. On the other hand, it restricts him from being brought on by any other team if he impresses anyone. How old is he now, like 27? Lol

Yall only know that CJ wasn't a good pick because of hindsight.

West's Comments During Part IV of LAC Offseason Special
What I found of particular interest is Jerry West's comments about how coaches can get so wrapped up in thinking "we need this player" or "we need that player" that they might not realize a better fit might actually be "sitting right beside of him". This seems to allude to Doc (or any coach) being fixated on the type of player that currently doesn't play for his team while not giving chances to players on the roster who aren't provided the opportunity to show what they can do.
West stressed that open discussion would allow for the possibility of finding such players, which seems to imply his advocating for a more democratic decision-making process with input from all around instead of having one guy make the call with yes men backing the boss' call.
I wonder if West might have been referring to anyone in particular with regards to the Clippers not giving enough playing time or consideration to fill certain roles. Could West have referred to Lance Stephenson or maybe a rookie who didn't get play under Doc's watch? West mentioned how he watches every NBA game and a lot of college basketball while constantly taking notes with his mind never shutting off.
I also agree with Don MacLean that West's imprint will be felt over time in shaping this team given how that is exactly what has happened with every NBA stop he's been with, which includes the Lakers, Warriors, and Grizzlies. The Grizzlies had the makings of heading on their way to being a good team with Marc Gasol and Mike Conley, Jr. before West left for Golden State.
With the influx of former Houston players from the CP3 trade, this roster seems to have a lot of players with winning attributes. The team just needs to continue to fine tune and prune certain personalities from the roster to complete this endeavor. I personally consider DeAndre Jordan and Austin Rivers to be such players that should and will eventually need to be moved.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
I have a general question about LRMM: Did he ever play in lineups we were he guarded the "center" of the opposing team? Is he capable of playing next to Ryan Anderson at the PF/C positions and make-up for Anderson's deficiencies?

Luc can guard PG, SG, SF and PF, but he's not a player to be putting at C.

i, too, can take and make midranger jumpers undefended in a gym.
but that said i'm glad he's trying and it'd certainly be a nice surprise if he could hit that shot on the occasion.

Re: 2017 Offseason Thread
Practicing shooting from the field actually helps you be a better shooter everywhere including the FT line. I feel like I've said it before, but even if he doesn't take them in game DJ should always have been working on his perimeter shooting. I never liked the idea of just shooting FT's all day as the total plan for becoming a better shooter.
Too minimal of a sample to take anything from it, but it's nice to see. Should have been doing this since day 1, I'd suggest that team development failed him there, but that's just me, but I also have little insight to what he does in the off-season so maybe he's been doing this and it just hasnt helped.

Rick Barry's kid is sort of a shooting scientist, and the Clips had them both in. Rick said DJ just wouldn't commit to the teardown-and-rebuild that Rick said he was sure would get DJ over the hump. [IIRC, he wasn't talking about shooting FTs underhanded, which DJ also refused to do.]

"If they dont want to do it my way, they should find my son Scooter, who has an unbelievable new technology in a shooting sleeve with sensors in three sessions with DeAndre Jordan he had him shooting over 70 percent and he didnt keep working at it. Its amazing."

There was no official words about length of recovery, but i heard that he will be ready for training camp. If i found something official from some Euro source, i will post it here.
