This is getting national attention. Or at least ESPN wants to play it up.

They showed some of Doc's postgame press conference and then it was Wilbon talking about "why should they give $420 million to Paul and Griffith" to keep this team together.

Paul would have to leave almost $100 million on the table to leave? Of course the suspicion is that he had a hand in coming up with the super Max contract because he'd benefit from it.

It seems most of the Clippers fans here are in favor of keeping this team, not necessarily with the expectation that they will break through, but only because you can't let key assets, who can still make this a 50-60 win team, just walk away.

But if they let some of these players walk away, could the Clippers have enough cap relief 2 years out to explore other options? For instance, if they declined to give Reddick a 2 or 3 year, $50 million or more deal (given his age and the need to get younger, bigger, more athletic in the wings), could the savings by not extending him be helpful for at least the 2018-19 season?

You have to re-sign everyone, try to pull off that Melo deal and if you want to make any moves they come at the deadline or next summer.

The one guy I could see them straight letting go is JJ, depending on what happens with Melo.

Despite being shorthanded your team fought, good season fellas.

We haven't playing a good basketball since 14-2 run starting the season. Sadly, we represent every single bad habit a winning team should avoid. Our team is lazy, laid back and soft that involves tons of emotional, self-seeker, uncompetent morons whom prioritizing his pockets over winning. I'm struggling to find a way to support those group of players and coaches. If you want an evidence, just see the homecourt game 7, the team just quit. Only guy who were still trying was Felton forcing his next paycheck to look better unfortunately.

Winning is a culture he haven't had obviously. You can see it in the Utah Jazz team when you face them, they are a team who enjoys the basketball, cares more about winning than flashy plays, smart-tough-resiliance team.

Years of Spurs, Warriors for last 4 years, and now Utah... Even healthy in the future, we can't beat them with this mentality. we need a serious change sooner rather than later. Team is just not responding.

I don't want to see Doc rivers and his soft, drama queen players in this team anymore. No JJ, Jamal, Pierce, DJ, CP3.

Only way i would be OK with that massive contract CP3 would get is that we sign-and-trade it to get a guy like Kyrie irving from Cavs.

Time to blow this.

Do any of the coaches work with the players the Clippers drafted last year in the offseason?

On their shooting, ball handling, understanding of the plays, etc.?

Just saw Toronto has our 1st round pick this year not like Doc would play them anyways but still

Don't forget 2nd round picks. Goubert was a second round pick. So was Draymond Green.

Not too sure but i just read about the Clippers DLeague team. They were talking about David Michineau and how the staff feels he can contribute off the bench which his defense next season

Are they even still with us?

Our draft picks would have spent more time carrying the vets bags than they would've spent on the court this year.

I'm fairly open to a big trade as I no longer think we are just one SF short of a ring (like I did a few years back).
I also don't think you can have two poor defenders at the SG spot like we do in Jamal and JJ. I would really like us to focus on improving defensively because as seen with Luc, CP3 can inflate the offensive production out of almost anyone.

Not only am i open to it now, which kills me, i want it too happen. I'd like to see JJ go as well, with Craw. Not too sure what Blake could net us though. Might not be worth it

Gobert was acquired for a 2nd round pick and cash, he was the 27th pick.

Feel bad for you guys, as an outsider I don't know if you should pay Paul or Griffin, I think I would try to do sign and trade to get as much value out of those two and try to pry away the Brooklyn 18 pick from Boston for DAJ and hope Ballmer fires Doc, hire Hinkie and tank hard.

JJ is the perfect SG if he isn't the primary scoring winger. That's why he always folds in the playoffs. Opponents don't worry about Luc so they just go after JJ.

He is an efficient shooter but far from perfect. He can't defend purely because of his physical attributes. He also cannot create his own shot. I think the opposition should respect Luc's 3pt game as he shoots at an acceptable clip now.
