Just what we need, another washed fossil from Doc's Celtics days who can't shoot or score. And we'd be giving up assets to get him!

If all we have to give up is Wes Johnson, I'd say do it. Tony and Pat Bev will give this team a defensive identity that we haven't had in this era. Having both of them mentor Evans and Thornwell would be great.

Doc is still our coach, though. Allen wouldn't really be mentoring Evans or Thornwell. He'd just block them from ever getting the minutes they need to develop as players.

I'd be ok with getting him at vet minimum for a year.
really don't need another player in his mid 30s.

I don't want to imagine a Rivers-Rose-Allen second unit

I'm not going to pay to see Evans or Thornwell. Let them fight their way out of the G-League, like Danny Green and Jonothon Simmons did.

I'm not ready to hand Los Angeles back to the Lakers, whose fetuses are way better than ours.

OK I don't want us getting too old now. If Allen is coming for the minimum that's fine, not sure how I feel if we offer him more than that.

Growth Potential Instead of Rotting Skills

Man, I'm not looking forward to another one of Doc's grave-robbing picks from the morgue with another possible walking corpse in a 36-year-old (when shortly after the season starts) limited player who is best known for Oscar-worthy embellishment. At least a fetus has growth potential.

lol yeah i wanna say he can't be any worse than paul pierce

but when you're old, you're old. and when you're sports old, you're often a zombie. let's just hope anything going on with tony allen is a minimum signing.

Yeah, if it's anything more than a minimum, I don't want. I would've liked him 5 years ago, not so much now. Let's hope Doc isn't interested in his teammate, Vince Carter... I'm tired of all these old timers. Doc is probably salivating looking at the Big 3 League.

I was on board with Tony Allen idea from another thread when it was assumed a 1 year deal or 1+1 for near vets minimum.

not worth 3 years of S&T. right now I am very intrigued with the idea of signing Milos Teodosic after seeing his 3point %s. but not sure if I want another ball dominant PG when we are supposed to be going with Blake as the point forward. I actually have no idea if Milos is a ball dominant player at all, but assume that he is since he is described as a "pure playmaker"

I would almost rather have luc come back instead of trading for allen. Allen is no spring chicken any more

2016-17:

Tony Allen 13.3 PER 3.1 WS
JCrossover 12.0 PER 1.9 WS

I agree with Neddy that 3 years is a bad idea
but his adv numbers are based on being plus defender

I'd rather have a defender to throw at Curry/Klay or Harden/Paul

than try to outscore them
