I have to admit keeping only half an eye on the first 3 games, which were pretty much extended preseason against lottery teams.

I'm excited about this one, also a little nervous. Let's see what we've got, the first real test of the post-CP3 era.

Props to Brother Docler for doing the game thread!!

Clippers have to rebound better. Gave up 8 o-boards in the 1st quarter.

Clips by 6 after 1Q. My pleasant surprise was Doc experimenting with combinations at the end: DJ played the whole 1stQ, out there with Austin & WeJo with ex-Sprockets Lou and Dekker.

Even gave Rookius Sindarious a look on D--the rook promptly and stupidly fouled on a 3. But that's OK. :-)

Doc giving a rook even a smell of the hardwood this early on is a new thing. :eek2:

This is fun.

Sindarius is probably the best rookie the team has had. Everyone tends to forget, but Bullock actually did get fairly decent minutes as a rook, he just didn't show anything like Sindarius which would suggest that he should get any more minutes. Remember that rookie Bullock got 15 mpg in a 10 game span from game 12-21 of the 13-14 season.

He wasn't bad, but he was underwhelming, and of course, we still had Dudley/Barnes at SF, so you would need to be a lot better than underwhelming to carve out 15 mpg as a rookie in a rotation that doesn't have 15 mpg freely and readily available.

Up by 9 at the half.

Doc shoving it up his "nepotism" critics. Rookieus Sindarious earned his minutes by humping on D, Austin has earned his minutes as a Clipper period.

Gallo is Blake's safety valve. As a possession starts going sour, you pass it to Gallo, all of a sudden the ball goes in, the scoreboard keeps ticking, and let's get back on defense. [And the team D has been very good. Few lapses, zero slacking.]

Another half to go, but this is VERY fun for this longtime Clipper martyr. Clips built the lead very workmanlike, not by lucky shots or somebody getting hot.
