Warriors Capitalized on Golden Opportunity

Post#3 » by Ranma » Tue Oct 31, 2017 3:26 am

Jordan Bell was the guy I wanted in the draft before the Warriors sniped us by buying the Bulls' second-rounder just ahead of our pick.

All I see is what our team looked like when CP3 was leading the charge when we used to lose with him. A bunch of isos and jumpshots.

How did this team get better without CP3 again

When are they going to contend again

Why can't we ever have nice things

I dunno about you guys but I'm already missing Mike Smith. Bowen's "analysis" is so basic. Smith would go into detail and be very informative. He would also throw in some random stories about opposing players.

Yea, we can't defend GS. Nothing new, but yea, we can't. Ah well, as long as we can beat the rest of the league, it will be okay. Though they don't currently have Kawhi, let's hope we still have SAS's number.

You can't have ball movement if you play Austin, Wes and DJ/Reed at the same time!

Regardless of the opponent&score Jawun, Thornwell and Dekker should get more minutes.

As soon as Doc realizes we are not a contender, gonna be better for the team to develop those youngsters into our core.
2023 Clippers W/L Count (51-31)
(Russ at bench 42-15)
without PG13 3-3
Without Kawhi 7-4
Without Russ 6-6

This bad though? I could have anticipated a 15 point loss, but giving up 141 points and losing by 28, not so much.

later in the season, perhaps not. but the team's just dipping their feet into the water with each other in terms of familiarity. i just can't imagine many scenarios where we don't get blown out badly by the warriors, at the start of the season.

I did.

Despite the final #, our offense struggles against them. We literally cannot get quality offense at all against them. They blow up everything we try to do offensively with their switching, and force us to play 1v1 and we just don't have the players to do that for 48 minutes.

From CP to Blake now, what GSW does defensively, and the personnel that they have, it's literally the 100% remedy for what we wanna do offensively. So if every point we score is hard, then eventually they're going to pull away.

But whatever, these games aren't the games I worry about. We were going to go 0-4 against GSW this year anyway. It's the taking care of business against other teams we're supposed to beat that I worry about. Games where we're up double figures in the 2nd half, games against lesser opponents. Those are the games that make your season, not GSW. They're going to win 60 plus games, not a lot of people are going to beat them anyway.

The problem wasn’t so much the offense but the near completely nonexistent defense. I was ashamed by their lack of effort. After reading articles about Doc, I think the players have lost respect for him and don’t really listen to him. I’m also upset with the way he has been conducting himself in the media- bad mouthing cp3 and seemingly making up stories about Redick. I think Ballmer should rip the band aide off now. Just fire him and move in a new direction before he completely ruins this team. I have been patient with him and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it is just too clear to see. There aren’t any excuses left.

The Warriors are just too good compared to the rest of the league now.
They broke the Clippers. Just too good. Another level. Curry is special.

If you don't play to win the title, honestly, what's the point of playing at all?

Doc antagonizing CP3(the greatest player in franchise history, whether he plays for the Clippers anymore or not) enough to have him force his way out is a fireable offense in itself, but even if they get rid of him now, what's the point? It's too late now, as usual for us

I just hope we don't end up like the Cubs

What did the Warriors (and everything they're about) do to deserve all the nice things again? They embody almost everything that's wrong with the NBA today.

I hate what this league has become. I really don't know why I'm still a fan of it in its current form.

Offense was good though. From quarter 1-3 we averaged 28-29 points each quarter and were shooting well. The problem was that we gave up 107 by quarter 3 and like 65\56 shooting.

I turned this crap off at halftime, and I'm never watching another Clippers/Warriors game again as long as Doc is our "coach." We all know how it's going to play out every single time:

1.) Doc talks trash to the media about the Warriors, giving them locker room material.

2.) The Warriors treat the game like it's Game 7 of the Finals. Our team comes out timid and scared.

3.) Doc has no plan besides trying to beat them in a three-point shooting contest, even though we don't have the roster to do that.

4.) We get blown out in embarrassing fashion.

Why even bother trying to win these games anymore? As long as Doc is our "coach," we should just rest all the starters and call up the whole AC Clippers roster every time we play the Warriors. Same result with a lot less embarrassment.

This was still a game within reach in the 3rd quarter. I remember it was around 9 points. Not sure why the defense collapsed so badly. Their guards are tough to match up with but its still just 1 game. Hopefully they bounce back vs the Spurs.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point. :D
