Wow I wasn't expecting him to be done for the season. I'm not really sure what other "good" options there are for acquiring another serviceable PG.

Offer Wesley Johnson to the Cavs for Rose. He can still penetrate and score.

Sucks, but it is what it is. No point in even really applying for a DPE.

Should just try to see what swing we can get for Willie or Brice.

I think we need to keep Willie on ice in case DJ opts out. Brice I'd trade for a six-pack, I don't even care if it's cold.

As for the DPE, our logjam at guard is now broken, so I'd say we'd forgo it if Milos can stay on the court. But if he can't, and if we're going to try to develop the youngsters, I'd try to get someone. I'm not a fan of tossing them all into the deep end of the pool with no veteran leadership. Hinkie did that and it was a case of the blind leading the stupid.

Willie's an unrestricted free agent without us having any bird rights. If we can finagle a late first for Willie, or even steal a Dillon Brooks type.

I still got the impression he was a fallback plan if DJ thinks he's gonna get more than his scheduled $24M elsewhere

if we're going to full rebuild mode, I'd be quite relieved to be out from under it

good call on the Bird rights, though
but if DJ opts out it prob won't be a factor

With 6'6" Shai at PG, now we can get away with a lot at the 2. Pat and Lou are 6', Avery's only' 6'2". Those 3 are among our top 5 players, true NBA pros. Not one is a true PG, but they still need to be on the floor unless we want to tank.

And as much as I love Lou, Pat Bev is THE Clipper you want to be in a foxhole with.

Except for Milos, who may soon be gone, and Jawun, who's looking overmatched even in Summer League, we don't have a true PG. Dunno why you're laughing, exactly, mate. Pat, Lou and Avery are all trade bait, so that's when and where Jerome is slated to come in.

I think they have this all pretty wired.
