LA Clippers starting point guard Patrick Beverley underwent surgery on his right knee Wednesday, league sources tell ESPN.
Although there is no immediate timetable for his return, Beverley is expected to miss a significant amount of time, league sources said.
Beverley had missed five straight games with a sore right knee before returning to play 22 minutes in the Clippers' 107-85 loss to the New York Knicks on Monday.
http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/21516202/patrick-beverley-la-clippers-knee-surgeryI guess there was a reason at least some of us prefaced everything about this season with "if healthy", but yea, Bev is out, probably something like 4-6 weeks I'd assume. Hindsight is 20/20 and many of us were for some reason just assuming/expecting better health from some of the signings, but in hindsight, maybe having 3/5 starters, and maybe some would argue even 4/5 being injury prone players was not the smartest plan. Don't know when Milos or Gallo are coming back, but I'd say it is time to go get someone who can play PG decently at least (not that Bev was that guy either).
Sigh...

Portland Fan here, if the clippers go rebuilding, would you trade Blake for Turner, Zach Collins and Ed Davis or noah Vonleh + 2018 first unprotected + 2020 top 10 protected? Clippers could start their rebuild with a couple of picks and zach Collins and clear some Cap space. When griffin is not anymore on the roster, the clippers first would also be more valuable. I think griffin is wasting his career with the clippers and would be a fanstastic fit in Portland with Dame cj and Nurkic.

Well this isn't the news I was expecting. I was hoping that Beverly was healthy enough to play since he came back. This is a bit depressing and I'm not as optimistic on the season at this point. Guess we'll see if the team makes a move.

Gallo said he "hopes" to be back in 10 days yesterday. they way he said did not sound confident at all. no one even really knows the seriousness of Milos' injury. he maybe out for the season as far as we know.
4-6 weeks sounds like too short of a time frame for Beverly to return IMO.

well I said I was afraid this might be one of those "lost seasons," where things never really get started
I would think the store is open, even including Blake, and he wouldn't mind being dealt
question is whether anybody really wants our players enough to give a decent return
DJ's a dinosaur and is Blake really worth $30M?

I don’t think they are ready to go full tank mode and give up griffin to a bad deal. However I’m sure for the same deal they are willing to trade doc rivers a championship coach and his son Austin rivers.

https://www.sbnation.com/2017/11/22/16692866/patrick-beverley-injury-clippers-timetable-microfracture-surgery-right-kneeHold on a second... Aren't microfracture surgeries basically career enders? Guys like Amare Stoudemire and Greg Oden were basically shells of their former selves after having those done...
I wonder if this was an actual injury in one of this seasons game or if this was because of his previous one injuries...

Have you seen him play in the NBA? Sure he is a decent playmaker, but he is also a very inconsistent shooter and even worse defender than Milos

Kendall Marshall played for us in summer league. He was OK. The Clippers did trade for his G-League rights a few weeks ago, and he apparently just quit today, since he's not on the ACCO website.

November 22nd 2017 at 5:59pm CST by Arthur Hill
Kendall Marshall, who played for four teams in four NBA seasons, has decided to retire from the G League, tweets Chris Reichert of 2 Ways and 10 Days. It’s not clear if this means Marshall is just leaving the league or if he is done with basketball completely, although 26 would be an early age to retire for someone with no recent major injuries.
The point guard was waived by the Bucks in early October and has been playing for the Agua Caliente Clippers. He appeared in three games, averaging 4.0 points and 2.7 assists in 14.2 minutes. Marshall has previous G League experience in Bakersfield, Delaware and Reno.

Yes I know he was good in the summer league for us. In the freaking summer league. You should take next to none opinions on summer league play. Lonzo was the MVP and watch how he is playing now.

I said he was OK, that's all. Juwan ended up getting his minutes. The Clips did acquire him for the G-League. Could be he quit today because the Clips told him they don't intend to call him up.

Kidd, Stockton, Kenyon Martin or Zach Randolph were perfectly fine after it. On the other hand, it also helped kill Webber and T-Mac's careers. Hopefully we're a bit lucky for once and he joins the former list after it.
Bright side of this, hopefully we see more of Evans. He showed some flashes yesterday, even if he was not great overall.
