Very impressed with this Wallace kids ability to score with ease. Even made a good dump off pass to DJ after sucking in the defense on his drive. I don't remember the last time the Clippers had so many diamond in the rough type players at their disposal

everybody who knows me that I was never, ever a fan of Mike Smith. I always wanted the Big Red back, but it was not to be... but man... this current Ralph + Bruce is barely saved by Don McLean's basketball analysis... man. couldn't we just have gone with an existing, and an ex Clipper, Corey Maggette into the TV broadcasting booth along with Don? that would have been so much better than Bruce Bowen that came out of nowhere for the second broadcaster job next to Ralph......

Has anyone realized that we are actually a good team despite the record? This team is just too talented to be a lottery team so tanking will be hard.
Who's a Clipper?

Even surrounded by nothing but Rockets and G-Leaguers, as long as the Big Guy was out there--and on Saturday he's gonna become our all-time games leader--it still felt like the Clippers. And what a game--25 and 18, and finally a 4thQ factor, including 4 straight FTs against the Hack-a-DJ. Team-high +12--this was DJ's win, maybe his MVPest win.
Lou's already starting to feel like a Clipper, and even though he was only 12-29, his job is to keep the scoreboard ticking by hook or by crook, and he did it again tonight, 34 ticks worth.
You gotta love how fearlessly Jawun sticks his nose into the Land of the Giants, and of course CJ's going nowhere, even if we eventually end up having to park him in Ontario til the G-League season ends on March 24. After that he'll be eligible to exceed the 45-day limit for our last 9 games and even join the big club for the playoffs [God willing].
Ty Wallace has hit the ground running and is already as good as the other scrubs, already leaping past Sindarius. It was tough letting Jamil go, but he's 27 and Wallace is only 23, and if we hadn't signed him to the 2-way contract, some other team was probably gonna scoop Ty up. We were going to lose one either way unless we wanted to cross the luxury tax threshold, and apparently we're not gonna do that just to keep back-of-the-rotation prospects. [Can't blame 'em.]
Dunno about the rest. It was a prime night for Trezz and Dekker to step up, but they were a team-worst minus-11 and -7 respectively, and were out there when we squandered a double-digit lead against the worst team in the league.

I'm sorry for the tanking gang, but this team is a whole lot of fun.
Shout out to DJ quietly improving 17% over his career FT% and being at 60% for the season (SIXTY!!), who would've thought
Shouts to CJ and his stoner face too, man got the ball with like 10 secs left and nonchalantly swished a step back game-winning 3 pointer like it was nothing to him.

I know people are down on Doc but I have to give credit to him for keeping this team in the playoff race despite missing 3-4 starters at times.

....and shall we say, too well coached to just tank so easily. Doc has been the guy to hate on, and I've even taken shots at him, but the man is earning his money and proving himself as a coach. No one is saying he's the elite of the elite in coaching, but having a team stay in games, win games, and perform as the Clippers have with all the injuries, you're doing something right as a coach.

I hope that we can make some roster space for our G-Leagers, great job by CJ for hitting the game winner. Wasn't sure if we'd beat the Hawks since we're so depleted right now.

I think Doc's enjoying it too, or at least he's doing a great acting job. Back to the basics.
Frankly, with the expectations being so high [Finals at least or you're a despicable failure as a human being], nobody was having any fun around here, and that includes Chris, whom I love but is a total deep throat in attitude and I also think there's a "coachability" question. The "coach on the floor" trumps the coach, because he has the ball in his hands. You don't give Chris Paul orders.
And so it became a misery for everybody, on every level. [Look at what the Clipper fan boards became!] Fortunately, it was Chris who saw the light and he pulled the plug, and when the smoke cleared, everybody [including us fans] breathed a huge sigh of relief: thank God it's over.
This is a new day for Doc. And frankly, he doesn't have any choice but to embrace it because he's not going to get a GM job ever again. If he wants to stay in the game, this is it. He still gets his say about the roster, and he's paid very well, in a great town for a great owner. It means we have to tear down even more, maybe move DJ and maybe even Blake, so be it.
I think he has a new appreciation for his NBA life as it is and a new enthusiasm for his job. There are no greener pastures out there for him. This is as green as it gets for Glenn "Doc" Rivers and he looks like he knows it. Even with all the injuries--with CP gone, Doc looks like a new man.
