Another massive game for us, especially with season series on the line too. It would be a big advantage if we hold the tiebreaker agains Pelicans after already holding it against Denver.

Lol, DJ is such a horrible finisher at the rim when it's not a dunk. On the flip side, Harrell is absolutely excellent at it.

Montrezl making it happen. Sindarius too, with his defense. Refs not calling a lot of contact inside for us though

And all our starters look like crap. No one feels confident about the 3 and we're getting denied inside. DJ with another low energy showing against a quality opponent.

Too many double digit holes we keep digging for ourselves, there's only so many times you can climb back. But hey, at least Trez continues to dominate.

With OKC and Denver losing, not getting this win will hurt even more.

Well, at least this game should settle the ridiculous argument about whether or not Ty deserves a contract.

BuT hE cAn'T sHoOt ThReEs! No, but he can play defense unlike the rest of this roster. We wouldn't be getting humiliated like this tonight if Ty was playing.

We actually could have used Blake tonight. He was always a tough matchup for AD.

Overall pathetic performance in the must-win game of the season. If Ty doesn't get signed soon, I have to assume we're tanking.

I really want to be upset about this crucial loss, but the guys keep fighting so hard every single game. If we don't end up extending Trez, I swear... Imagine if DJ played with half that energy level against playoff opponents, not just tanking teams.

For seemingly the first time, I agree w/you.

The defense is awful. I've said all along that I don't think we're going to make the playoffs, but if we are, it won't be with this kind of defense. We're giving up 35 point 1st quarters w/consistency. 65+ point 1st halves w/consistency. The Knicks w/o KP were lighting us up in the first half. BKN hung 120+ on us.

Have to get better on D/ and Ty helps with that. Ty Wallace brings down the amount of minutes Milos is on the floor, he pushes him potentially to the bench, it brings another hooper on the floor to lessen the load on Lou, it takes away having to start / play Wes Johnson, a team that's already depleted w/injuries needs someone like Ty Wallace badly. And it's not like if you don't sign him (or CJ) that you can replace them. Sean Kilpatrick isn't it, he's not a needle mover, neither is D Rose so really you're just minus two rotation players on top of the injuries you have.

So to bring it to your point, them tanking really is the only tangible reason for this. It's not like converting Ty (or CJ) is costly. Minimum, end of the season deal. Ty's going to be a RFA this summer anyway, just convert him and deal w/RFA in the summer. To me, (And this is to your point again) there's no way you're serious about making the playoffs if you're not willing to convert one / two of your most important players to rest of season minimum deals. It's not like it would trigger a repeater tax, or anything like that. And it's not like he could say no. So there's literally no reason why you couldn't convert Ty.

Saw this on twitter, but the only reasons I saw that could be motivating the Clips right now in handling Ty is:

1) They want to have two lottery picks in June aka tanking

and

2) The Clips know what they have w/Ty and want to sign him for the cheap this summer. Don't want to raise his value more than it already is.

Regardless, a team this hurt, not converting their OWN two way guys is odd and for a team to have used the G-League in such fantastic fashion, to be in the middle of a playoff pursuit and not have any of those 3 guys on the roster is a shame.

Good post. How about when Sinadarius is playing good D late in the game and Doc yanks him to put Milos back in??? WHY?? Speaking of Milos, he has long stretches where's he plays no defense, has no assists, and scores zero points for us. The difference is night and day out there with Wallace and Gallo out. And I agree, you mean to tell me they aren't going to sign one 2 way player to a deal for the rest of the season.. especially a guy that has out-shined alot of our contract guys? Unbelievable. Wish we could've gotten better offers for DJ before the trade deadline cause Tez is eating his breakfast, lunch, and dinner. As of right now all signs to point that It does seem like they want in the lottery this summer and Ty is pretty much locked up as a restricted free agent
