I wasn't in love with the players that were available at either spot

I'm really curious as to what people see in Kevin Knox. That dude looks like a bust, if I've ever seen one.

He's got the size and solid offensive skills but I'm concerned about the motor. Plays pretty soft. Doesn't rebound well for his size and is shaky on defense.

yeah i'm really hoping we grab another pick. not sure what we can offer for it but it feels like this is the draft to get an extra late lotto pick.

My concerns about him run much deeper than the sum of his missing parts. I think he lacks the mentality to put together whatever talents he has. I'm not just talking about alpha mentality, or whatever, but about decisiveness and his ability to mentally track events on the court. He predetermines his moves frequently, telling me that the game, even at the college level, is too fast for him- which results in guesses. I see his absolute ceiling as Wesley Johnson: a player with many gifts, but virtually no ability to put them together on the court.

Yeah he really looks like the prototypical tools guy that you spend his whole rookie contract hoping he puts it all together and gets some hunger pumped into him. Then you realise you just wasted your time and he goes to China or Europe. Your regular James Young, Ben McLemore, Wes Johnson type.

Trade Austin as soon as he opts in and becomes tradeable for one of those unproductive contracts that are only partially guaranteed next season (Al Jeff, JR Smith). Then trade that unguaranteed contract with Dekker to Denver for their pick? Not sure any of that is doable, but I'd try it hard, would add any future 2nds or our rookie guys if needed be.
Not sure when's the deadline for players to opt in, so maybe that's not doable before the draft and it ruins my idea.
Sexton

As I mentioned in the poll thread for the 12th overall pick, I voted with my heart instead of my head so I picked Anfernee Simons knowing full well he wouldn't be the winner in this poll. However, I'm actually surprised that Collin Sexton is both available and not the leader in the polling so far. I didn't want to contaminate the vote but I won't have time later to post the following.
I've gone on record as saying that I prefer natural playmakers to be by point guards, but there are exceptions to the rule and Collin Sexton may qualify for that due to his athleticism and bulldog determination. He's been compared to both Eric Bledsoe and Patrick Beverley in complementary fashion. He's the same height as Trae Young without shoes but has a significantly longer reach than him. Speaking of Young, he has a high bust factor going given his weak defense and frankly his lack of stamina and strength to play against men for 82 games over a full season, which is why I think Sexton is the better prospect despite not having the same level of court vision and playmaking or shooting ability.
However, I can see Sexton being a starting caliber PG in the NBA given his toughness and ability to score. He'll definitely need to improve his abilities with regards to seeing the floor and passing, but he seems to have an indomitable will to compete. I mean the dude single-handedly almost finished off a comeback upset of 14th-ranked Minnesota by carrying 25th-ranked Alabama on his back and playing this opponents 3-on-5 (seriously) during the last quarter portion of the game. Both teams were undefeated at the time but Sexton had a career-high 40 points despite literally being outmanned and behind on the scoreboard. In fact, the broadcast in the highlight video below starts off with an apparent comparison of Sexton to Draymond Green for his great feel for the game.
I'd love to go after a talented big-man prospect with one of our lottery picks but I'm not convinced with the likes of Robert Williams and Kevin Knox being available despite their skills and respective elite athleticism and versatility. Sexton almost seems like a no-brainer if he were available at the 13th overall selection slot.

I'm not a fan of Collin Sexton. He's undersized, plays reckless, and isn't a play maker.
