Our team is very different now than it was back then. The Shai/Shamet duo is the future, I don't really see a point in messing up that dynamic by bringing in a ball-dominant guard with an ego like Kyrie.

I know, which is why I put "Old News Report" in the post title. It's just a reminder that Kawhi initially had no interest in playing in Toronto. Whether that has changed or not is unknown for certain, but the fact that he reportedly wanted to come to Southern California and Los Angeles, specifically, gives us fans legitimate encouragement, especially with the front office purportedly quite confident in their chances with Kawhi. Let's also not forget that Ballmer hired Lee Jenkins to provide psychological/identity profiles to the front office, which suspiciously seems targeted specifically at the Klaw.
