Re: 2019 NBA Draft Talk
This order reverses with the 2nd round picks, so the Clippers will have the 48th and 54th picks in the draft.
The tiebreaker went the best way that it could go for us.

Re: 2019 NBA Draft Talk
The 1st team would make the playoffs but probably not the other two. As for drafting these 15 as a whole, the odds are astronomical--see below.
If you do the math, this actually illustrates the absurdity of the crapshoot of late draft picks.
The worst odds on a craps table are betting snakeyes/boxcars at 30-to-1. Those 15 players represent the best of the last ~10 years of the 2nd round, let's call it 600 picks. 15 of 600 is 2.5%, 40-to-1!
Yes, folks, for every one of these guys there were 39 others who are worse than Jordan Clarkson. Just to have 50-50 odds of picking even one of these guys, you'd need 20 second-round picks. And the odds against hitting two 40-to-1 shots are 40 x 40 = 1600-to-one!
Further, fewer than half of these 15 are still with the team that drafted them, and even fewer were of much use their first 2 years. And in their 4th year, if they've become any good, you have to start paying them real money as RFAs. [Remember DeAndre Jordan, who did nothing for 2 years, played well in his 3rd, and hit the $$ jackpot in his 4th when GSW offered him $10M a year and the Clips had to match.]
I mean, Tomas Satoransky and his lousy 9 ppg made this list, ffs. So even if you beat the 1600-to-one odds, though you might get Jokic and Middleton, you might only end up with Clarkson and Satoransky!
And Satoransky's a RFA this summer after 3 years of doing not much. Time for the Wiz or somebody else to pay up!

As previously mentioned, Porter and his siblings have been snakebitten with multiple ACL/Knee injuries and MPjr with back problems.

Would love to find a way to move up and snag Jalen McDaniels. Really believe he's going to be a stud and most mocks have him in late first/early second

Logo Ahead of the Game Again

I was just thinking for the past couple of weeks about how Jerry West and the front office got ahead of other teams in drafting and acquiring shooters when that is at such a premium and even rare commodity nowadays in the NBA. I felt Jerome Robinson was a reach as a late-lottery pick, but he's a polished shooter with a reliable shooting stroke with other skills. Then the Clips went on to acquire Landry Shamet, a proven shooter with playmaking and defensive abilities, at the trade deadline.

Understanding of course that we are talking about a really small sample size, but JR really seemed like a player in his playoff minutes. I don't mean in a "10th guy happens to shoots 7-for-8 out of his mind and gets 20 points" sort of way, I mean in his size, athleticism, headiness, general offensive skills, etc.
At the end of the day, I'm glad he got a lot of G-League run this year. He's still sort of caught in a numbers game with our other guards, but I think he has genuine potential to more or less live up to his draft position. He did shoot 41% from 3 in the G-League.
If we bring back Bev, he's gonna be the odd man out again in the rotation now that we have Shamet who basically replaced him as our 2-guard prospect. Maybe if he has decent trade potential we can find a suitable trade partner where both sides can win a little in a trade.

I wouldn't mind taking a flyer on one of these guys with our 2nd. I think it's worth that shot, given our depth (depending on how the offseason goes of course.)

Re: 2019 NBA Draft Talk
Semi-off topic but I'm absolutely shocked that Lamine Diane didn't put his name in the early entrants list to get some NBA work outs in before returning for his sophomore year. This guy is an absolutely gifted scorer.
Yes, please.
Though, I firmly believe Enoch will return for his senior season.
