plus/minus isn't everything, but interesting:

Pat Bev a team-best +13 tonight
Gortat next best at +9
Scott +6
Tobias +5
Thornwell +2 with 5 fouls in 10 minutes

everyone else at zero or worse

The Lob City teams would wilt and cower in games like this especially against the Warriors. They would want no parts of a dog fight.

I gotta funny feelin' SGA is going to eventually take over this team like he should. Trez as well. Gallo and Tobias are 2nd option types on offense. Definitely talented but not #1 options nor max players. I think Jerome should get the "tryout minutes" that Ty and Thornwell got the last couple of games. Sin doesn't look good and Ty can't finish at the basket.

Ranma wrote:I have to credit Doc for presumably telling the team heading into overtime to be aggressive and taking it to the Warriors since that was what had the Clippers holding the lead for most of the game. We let the Warriors come back by playing tentatively on offense trying to look for an open lane or work for an open shot, all the while, the Warriors were the ones playing like a team without fear down the stretch in regulation.

Both Lou Williams and Klay Thompson were cold for most of the game, but they certainly showed up for their respective teams at the end of the game. It was a shootout between the two but Lou was up to the challenge in redeeming himself in OT.

I even think Doc made the right call in subbing out Shai Gilgeous-Alexander at the end. SGA was having the night of his life but the Warriors were feasting on his turnovers at the end of regulation. Montrezl Harrell was our heart and soul throughout the night. He knocked Kevin Durant out with foul trouble and was neutralizing Draymond Green when given the opportunity. He couldn't quite come up with the winning shots at the end of the game, but his energy was certainly a handful for the Warriors to deal with and his presence kept us in the game throughout.

Also, nice to see Jerry West give Bill Russell a sportsman's handshake at the end of the game while Ballmer celebrated a well-deserved Clippers victory. The Warriors were certainly short-handed, but a dangerous ballclub, nonetheless.

He kept deferring to the vets who were ice cold. It was frustrating to watch. I thought if he got at least a little aggressive on offense during the last three minutes we could've won in regulation. Non of the guards could stop him when he got into the paint. He played a hell of a game but he still passed up a lot of shots tonight. I guess him taking more shots will come with time. Seems like he wants to break out but as of right now he's trying to still defer to the vets to keep them happy.

Big win against a team loaded with all stars and rings. I wish the Clippers would get some more national TV time. The Lakers do every year no matter what their record.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point. :D

Important confidence boosting victory, staff is doing exactly what I would do. Everyone in this team will have a chance to showcase.
