On paper how many of those starting player matchups look like wins?

One. But the Sixers have no bench. Zip, zero, nada, doo dah. Stick with Plan A--play their starters even and get fat with our 2nd unit.

I would have at least liked to have seen Motley but I have to figure the team knows best.

Okay. It's a new year and we had 2 days off and are playing at home and yet we're already down against the Sixers and not looking prepared to play. What excuse are we going to have now? Hung-over from celebration?

Clippers seem to make things difficult for themselves. This one play where one player dribbled through already suffocating defense, then he makes a pass to a player already in a suffocating defense. I get it - you're supposed to split the defense apart, but in that play, it felt as if they were inviting the Sixers to close the doors on them. It resulted in a Gallinari layup, but it's something I really don't want to see again.
They could gone for a 3-point shot instead.

SGA looks so much better playing with Wallace and Beverly than Bradley
Where's the Compete?

But we have 58 points, which is OK. The problem is they have 76.
I'd have liked to see Motley too, because what the hell. But one player was not going to make a difference in this defensive stankfest.
And Embiid is killing us, but pick your poison. So is JJ. He's having one of those nights, 4-5 from distance already.

Sam just said in the halftime interview the game plan was to be trapping Embiid all along. In the players' defense, Embiid is so quick, when you go to double him, he's already gone.

These last two games have been real disappointing. Just getting thoroughly outplayed.
At this point, only Hack-a-Ben may be the only way to stop the 6ers from scoring every possession.

Yah, playing 'em even now, using every trick in the book, but there are only so many tricks in the book.
One thing is that we're an undersized team and the Sixers are an oversized team. Their PG is 6'10". It's just a bad matchup. We're getting outrebounded 46-27 but it's not like we're getting outworked on the boards. Their hands are just higher.
I'm kinda bummed that this was another matchup that Bobi can't handle. I've been pooh-poohing the 'start Bobi' crowd but I was hoping I was wrong. So was Doc, who has given Bobi chances lately to see what he can and can't do. So far, no pleasant surprises.
Props to Gortat though, who's still in there scrappin'.

LATE ADD: Actually, we won the the 3rdQ 30-25. Hey, looking for silver linings. We're not quitting, anyway. Pat Bev just took on Embiid. Hilarious.

Clippers are now 0-5 in games where their own player is ejected.

5 minute stoppage as they go back to Secaucus.
Bradley and Butler ejected. Well done, Avery. We got the best of that one, LOL.
But the thing is, our little guys are the ones who are giving 'em hell. Butler has 5 inches on Avery and Pat Bev was taking on Embiid, who had a foot and a hundred pounds on him.
God I miss Tatty Matty Barnes. Remember when his Clipper 'teammates' used to hang him out to dry? What we need around here is a lot more toxic masculinity.

ADD: The Clips go on a run to close it to 110-101.
