Shai and Rome making me proud with early minutes and efficient shooting. SGA has 6 points on 3-4 shooting while JR has 3 points on 1-1 from the field.
Did the front office push Doc to play the rookies today or what?
Front Office Must Have Nudged Doc

Motley is even out on the floor. Lawrence Frank is in the crowd viewing things, so I have to think Doc got orders from upstairs.

Rooks Pressing in Front of Frank?

Rome barely missed two open looks and even drew a charge call against the opposition. Motley is definitely rushing his shots. Great to see the young guns get early looks.

Team really needs to dig down and win this one. Can't give up too many and keep playoff hopes alive.

I called this a few games ago. Doc needs to be very careful with this because I’ve yet to see Harrell embrace Motley on the floor. Motley is trying to earn a nba role and Harrell wants to prove himself and they both do the same things.
Any touch Motley gets would of beforehand been a Harrell touch.

Geez. The Clippers are forcing some ugly shots. I'm looking at you, Tobias Harris and Avery Bradley. Rome may have missed a couple of open looks but those were good shots and only missed by a little.

Mike Fratello, Glenn Rivers's first coach in the NBA, described Doc as both inquisitive and stubborn. Interesting.

Good and Bad

Bradley's defense has been great the last couple of games prior to this one but he's made some bad decisions with the ball tonight.
Rome has 6 points in only 10 minutes and would have had a near-perfect line shooting from the field if a couple of his misses had moved an inch or so in his favor. Plus, he threw up a prayer after Bradley handed him a last-second hot-potato to close the 3rd quarter, which was an airball. Rome's defense is not ready but that's something that was to be expected and he would have benefited from playing with more capable teammates instead of playing most of his minutes with Motley so far, but that looks to be changing soon.

Like this unit checks all the boxes
Playmaker
Shooter/scorer
Defender
Hustle
Length/rebounding
Doesn’t hurt that Harrell and Motley can both score

Many rookies are not ready defensively. Some really good defensive players even had issues defensively as rookies. Glad Rome is getting some burn.

Big needed road win. Doc and players all were locked in with a strong game plan
